He should be used everywhere this year IMO. He probably would like it too since he is not going to be the starting QB this year. I say KR/PR/QB/WR/RB. I would literally line him up everywhere and force people to game plan for him.

We've had a problem the last few years with Trindon in that whenever he comes into the game from scrimmage, he almost alaways gets the ball and it's difficult to use him as a decoy since he's not going to be a very effective blocker.

I think what they need to do have Shep and Trindon in a package together where they come in and do some option stuff. That way you have to decide whether you're going to take Shep or Trindon on the same play

I think it's a great idea. I don't think anyone on the team has the combination of speed and moves that Shep has. Trindon has world class speed, but I don't think he has the moves and lateral quickness of Shep. Also, Lee should be an adequate backup, so it's no big deal if Shep gets knicked up.

One question to ponder. How often do KR/PR actually get injured. I can't even think of a game that I've watched in recent memory that one went down. IMO they have the same chance of getting hurt on any given play as any other player.

Doc, I don't think Shep is near thick enough to be a KR. I know Trindon isn't either, but Trindon is so small and low to the ground its hard to get a good shot at him. At over 6 ft tall Shep could get killed.

PR is a tough one because catching the ball is the first priority. I think we have other athletes that can do those jobs well and if we want Shep to be involved in the offense and eventually be a QB, you don't let him play Special teams.

Not to be an arse but are you high?!?! When Dominick Davis was the starting RB and was tearing up the league as a return man did you want him to run out of bounds? What about Skylar? Football players get hit. They know it and you should too. The return game is an all too important sometimes overlooked part of the game. The best guy we can get back there needs to be back there.

Why would you use him if there are just as talented people, at KR/PR, if he will have his own package on offense?

his position at the next level is going to require going over the middle and getting hit so him playing KR/PR I have no problem with

who's more talented as a punt returner?

chad jones? can catch, but no moves

trindon holliday? catches sometimes, very fast, not a whole lot of moves

who else?

we haven't had a true "threat" at PR since 2003/2004 when skyler was doing it.

Because they're not as talented as Shep? It's that simple, really.

I was being sarcastic, just saying i wont want him to get hurt. I think its different comparing a thick RB to a QB.

If we are playing in the SEC C.G. and a BCS Championship is on the line, that is what he came to LSU for.

So it depends what the situation is.

Let them prove that they are just as talented. The best one(s) suited for the position get the returns. Maybe we should just keep Shep and all of his much deserved hype on the bench for four years. Afterall we wouldn't want to take a chance on him getting hurt. Maybe T-Bob Hebert can field a punt? Has anyone seen what Drake Nevis and Al Woods look like standing at the goal line waiting for a kick? Maybe there is less chance for them to get hurt. Or we can go to the "only walk ons return kicks" philosophy so if they do get hurt then it's not a big loss.

true.

but he was still back there.

he had a bunch of fair catches.

in his career he had 12 kickoff returns, and 4 punt returns.

We should put Shepard in a glass case and talk about how great he was in High School for years. NEVER BREAK THE GLASS he may get hurt.

Youre a frickin rah-tard. When did i say keep Shep on the bench? Try to keep up.

I said if he has his own package on offense and they want Shep on the field as much as possible, there is no way he returns punts. Not worth the risk of injury, and i dont see him going straight from a KR/PR straight to the huddle to play QB.

Please name the last LSU return man to get hurt. Now name the last LSU QB to get hurt.

Because the first question is difficult to answer, that makes your response idiotic.

While I don't think they would do it, I have no problem with it.

BTW....Tommy Casanova was a return man. He was also THE most important player they had.
