Coach Mainieri stays the course. This man has robbed LSU every time he gets a direct deposit check. I figured this coach would have some pride in his abilities to teach young men the game of baseball. Obviously, he isn’t as talented as many people think.

Didn't they hire a new hitting coach like last year pumping everybody up?

So game 3 vs MS ST Paul trots out his offensive line up. LSU wins.

Kinda figured we’d see the same tonight. Nope. Guess PM didn’t like getting that win.

Against Sunday pitching when PM had reason to believe his offensive guys could get hits that would neutralize their mistakes that will be there against ANY pitching. Smart move. I think we might see that a lot this season.

Football can afford that. Remember, the money isn’t coming from the university; it’s coming from boosters. I’m sure there is a threshold after which they will pay the buyout to get rid of an underperforming baseball coach, but apparently we have not reached it.

I’m not sure of the details of CPM’s contract, but I would guess the buyout is in the $3 million range at the end of this season. The baseball team only makes half a million dollars per year. Clearly the university is not going to buy out a baseball coach for $3 million.

That's baseball.

Sadly, that's LSU baseball the last few years.

Get a grip people. Yes, too many strike outs right now. But......38 home runs. They can hit, just not as consistent as the more experienced players in the league.....YET. Even the more experienced players have slumps. When you make contact with the ball a few good things can happen but mostly bad things will happen. These kids hit it hard. When they make more contact they’ll have better results than most of the competition. I’m not giving up on them. This are the most talented hitters I’ve seen here in 15 years.

So if we fired him at the end of this season we would owe for 22, 23 & 24
That’s 3.375 million

Baseball doesn’t have the boosters to pay that imo
People need to accept reality, LSU isn’t firing him mid-season, I highly doubt LSU fires him at the end of the season with that kind of buyout

The most people can hope for is he decides to retire

I love watching LSU baseball, yeah losing sucks, yeah there are issues but I also have enough common sense to understand that it all boils down to money & 3.375 million is a lot for baseball to buy out a Coach

Well, Paul has said it is just so hard to win baseball games now a days. That there is his best coaching of his players, I guess. They may be listening on that.

Not as bad as I thought but combined with a .174 average is terrible.

Only slightly misleading since Vandy, Bama, and Missouri have all played an extra game.

Vandy has played +1 game and also they get more at bats. They don’t get 4 hits in a game

How about the LSU coaching staff buys 20 units of Rod Carew's batting practice machines. Doesn't the Crime Dog also have videos on "Winning Baseball" or some shite ?
