Isn't Alleva also trying to give a raise?

Was it really the hardest sch though?? I mean auburn was one of our big games, they turned out to be garbage, Miami??? Uga was impressive..

Kept Aranda

This is weak, Aranda is making HC money to be an assistant, money and his family likes BR is what kept him here.

But let’s ignore facts because stupidity.

Look, I’m pulling for O, but I’m realistic, the O has been horrible, and SE is NOT the best OC out there, so we give him an extension, when no other school is calling!?!??!

Y’all just like spending money??

So did our last coach. So I wouldn't say it's "great"

Beat the shite of UGA

One good game doesn't mean he's done great things. We still put up zero against Bama, lost to ATM and UF.

NY6 bowl when thought we would go to a crappy bowl.

That was a good achievement for this year but I won't say it's great until we win.

Kept Aranda

I wouldn't consider this "great" because O needs Aranda more than Aranda needs O. If O lost Aranda I could only imagine what our team would look like. However if another HC came in it likely wouldn't have been as big of deal.

I think you have to consider other factors. I agree Orgeron isn’t leaving LSU. However, it’s now the status quo in college football. Majority of power 5 coaches get an extension with a successful year. By most accounts, based on preseason expectations, he had a very successful year.

The optics of not giving your coach an extension reflects on the school and the support and respect you have for your coach. This can have ramifications on recruiting and your ability to hire coaches in the future. LSU is building it’s reputation of supporting and rewarding their employee for a job well done. That reputation is known in the coaching community and by families who are involved in the program through recruiting.

See Avery Atkins’s dad’s post from a couple of days ago and you’ll understand the reputation they’re buiilding for people other than the casual fan.

First off....Alleva blows...I agree he needs to go and LSU should have never hired him after that Duke lacrosse bullshite. With that said....

You give people an extension when you are scared other schools will poach

This is not correct....you give a coach an extension so your competition does not negative recruit. Everyone tries to keep the contract to 4 years for this reason.

Consider this... If Zero was recruiting a future Greedy Williams, he would be his coach for his entire career guaranteed based on his contract now.

He needs no extension to recruit. We need no extension to keep Zero. Schools like SE La and ULM that may need a coach can't afford Zero. The schools that can afford Zero won't be calling him. This is Alleva trying to convince us Black Friday 2016 was a good day for LSU football when it was not.

Wrong. His contract is only guaranteed for two more seasons

I really wish you guys would stop calling the man silly names. He may not be the best coach in the world, but he has done a good job this season and has earned the respect of at least being referred to be his actual name.
