The SEC is projected to get 12 teams into the tourney this year. I don’t know how you twisted that into me saying 4-14 gets us in.

Easy, if you are going to be the 12th team out of 16, your record will most likely be 4 - 14 or 5 - 13 in the SEC.
I guess I can see a 6 - 12 ending up 12th, but that would be because of several tie breakers.
Regardless, I think we win 3 SEC games at most this year, so 12th place won't matter. We will need to fight to not end up 16th.

There's nothing this team has done so far to make anyone believe it can win one, much less four or five conference games. Of course that could all change, McMahon could find a brain and the team could block out on rebounds, stop turning the ball over at a dizzying pace, and start executing their patterns. Who knows?

You touched on the basic problems which are turnovers, bad defense, poor rebounding, poor timing offensively etc. Those are all coaching issues, regardless of talent you’re going to fail in any competitive league because you have no foundation. The games you win vs competent opponents are overwhelmingly outlier situations and can only be won because you do have talent on your roster.

Well, recruiting rankings mean nothing anymore, except for pre-season hype.
so is it a coincidence that we won recruiting battles against many good power conference teams for our players?
are they just throwing out red herrings to throw us off? are they just as bad at talent scouting as us?
or maybe… just maybe… these players are good and could be pieces of a NCAAT team and the reason they underperform is bad coaching. food for thought

This next game vs. Arkansas gives LSU a chance for a conference win, especially since it’s at home.
It’s difficult to see when any other wins may come.

What we saw in the 2nd half of the ole miss game was the same thing we saw in the 1st against vandy and mizzou. For whatever reason, beard didn’t put pressure on our guards and they just fell back into the half court defense. As soon as they started they went up 8-10 points in a matter of minutes.
Any level of physicality and we go into a shell and probably the only player on the roster right now with some degree of toughness, Chest played 10 minutes.
You are right, once they did what the first two SEC teams did the game was over, not sure what took Beard so long. Ole Miss played as poorly as they could have the first half and was still up by 2.

probably the toughest conference in NCAA history. Right now almost all teams are projected in the NCAA tournament.
Great take. I mean half the teams that play on a given day lose amirite

Maybe three at most . Either way , 0-18 or 3-15 is horrible any way you look at it .
If Woodward is going to fire McMahon, I don’t think the difference in a couple of wins is going to influence his decision.
