Always defer. 3 and out, punt, TD and you get the ball first 2nd half as well.

“We want the ball and we are gonna score in 2 plays”

Then proceed to score in 2 plays

Doesn't matter. Give it to them both times. arse will still get whooped. Natty will still come home to BR.

Defer and get the ball to start the 2nd half. That is the only sensible option.

Orgeron was asked about this about mid season and during the semi final , if you missed it his logic on deferring was getting the defense on the field to set the tone and express extreme confidence in his defense.

Love it. Offense gets all the hype but he gets his defensive engaged and fired up. He has a beat on this team and knows how to get players to go at it with their best. His emotional IQ is off the charts it seems.

This is always interesting to me. Choosing to receive is putting your best unit out first (for LSU). If you score, you set the tone. If you do not, it hurts momentum and you do not get the ball back the second half.

I say the bigger momentum swing is to defer and stop Clemson from scoring. That would worry them bigly.

Or take the ball and jump on them right away
For 3 TD’s.
At 21-0, they’ll lose their will before we get to the half.

Negative.

Defer just like last game and make them punt.

That's how you kick arse.

teams in big games often get out to slow starts (lsu excluded)

look at clemson in the last game..

take advantage of that and set the tone the same way LSU's defense did last game.

you don't want clemson to have the ball in the 2nd half to look forward to once they are already trailing.

i want to see our defense come out and set the tone just like they did against ou. that felt so good.

Angel2, normally I'd say defer. But I'm with you. Kick arse from game starting whistle to game ending whistle. Statement Time!

why? It all equals out, so you should put your best unit on the field first, to take control of the game as early as possible.

Always defer? What if our defense was horrific - do you still want to give Clemson the ball first?

Put your best unit on the field as early as possible. Take the ball.

or they score, with their prolific offense, and we're behind early.

Our offense is as good as it ever will be in my lifetime. We should take the damn rock.

Defer, and let Trevor Lawrence and Mo Hampton get acquainted.
