The word "deserve" and the mindset of college athlete selection committees are usually mutually exclusive.
Its often better to be perceived as being worthy of inclusion than actually deserving the position.

Not unless LSU wins the SEC. You can't keep out undefeated or 1 loss champs over a 2 loss team that didn't win their division.
Would Georgia have made it if there was a playoff in 2007?
This season has that kind of a feel.
Eta: Also LSU would have made the playoff in 2006 with 2 losses and without winning the division.
So you were saying?

LSU needs help. Win out and get the help necessary to win the SECCG (Bama beats State and Auburn; Auburn beats Ole Miss; Ole Miss beats State; Georgia beats Auburn).
Additionally, we need two of the following:
1. Notre Dame loss
2. Two losses by FSU or none by Duke
3. A loss by each of KSU TCU Baylor
4. A loss by each of Utah Arizona AZSt Oregon
5. A loss by each of tOSU Sparty Huskers

I stand corrected. It's a lock.

Probably not - unless we get a lot of help from other teams. Its possible, but there would have to be mass chaos for it to happen.

What if Miss State loses to Ole Miss and Alabama. Alabama loses to LSU Ole Miss loses to Auburn Then all SECW teams would have 2 or more losses
That's why it's important that Georgia beats Auburn. LSU wins a tie breaker with Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Alabama, but not with Auburn in there too.

well we know for a fact that they would put bama in there even if they finished second in the West. frick, they'll send them right to the title game.
considering how young the team is, a point in our favor for once that has actually gained traction nationally, losing to 2 top 5 teams early in the year and then beating 2 top 5 teams late would still be the best resume in the country.

List the undefeated or 1 loss conference champs they would have skipped. You missed that part of my post.

In another thread, it was discussed how we could win the West with 2 losses which is completely possible still. If that happens and we Geaux on to Win the SECC game, we will be in the playoff. The selection committee has to pick the SEC Champion...even with 2 losses
We beat bama....LSU probably makes the top 10 again....I think Ole Miss loses AT LEAST 1 more....Auburn has a brutal schedule still....miss st is the team where I just don't see losing 3...unless we win some type of three way tie-breaker....
In any event....I'd be very pleased with a 10-2 regular season...hell, I'll be very happy with an 8-4 season if we beat bama...sets up nicely for next year.

And that's assuming Alabama beats Auburn. So LSU would be 2-1 against those remaining three teams, if that scenario panned out.

I would imagine the committee would put a bit more thought into it than just selecting the top 4 ranked teams. If it comes down to taking a two loss SEC West team that was out of the SECCG or a one loss team from another conference that plays 1 or 2 ranked teams all year, who would you pick?

Winning the West and getting into the SECCG is unlikely with losses to Auburn and Moo State, but if we end up winning out do you think LSU has a shot at making the playoffs? Clearly, this team is playing at a much higher level than they were in the beginning of the season but would winning out be enough to convince the playoff committee that LSU deserves to be there?
What in Hell is going on around here

I'd take it but no way in hell we get in over a 1 loss team unless somehow we make it to SEC championship and win but that is unlikely also!
