Seems like the national champ from the previous year is usually preseason #1 but LSU could be losing a ton of starters (Burrow, CEH, Jefferson, Delpit, Chaisson, Lawrence, Fehoko, Fulton, Stevens, Entire OLine).

Probably not. But they'll be top 5. We just lose too much to justify it.

Joe Burrow won't be here next year, so no.

Clemson will be preseason #1. They return their QB. If Tua comes back Bama will be #2.

We will reload at a lot of positions for sure. But the mere fact of losing Burrow will keep us from being #1 preseason

Probably top 4 or 5

If tua returns:

1. Clemson
2. Bama
3. Ohio State
4. LSU

No tua, bama to 4 and everyone bumps up 1.

No, we will be about 5. They will go ahead and prop up Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State again.

We should be ahead of Alabama if Tua declares for the NFL.

I think we will be #3, behind Ohio State and Clemson, though. They both will return great quarterbacks, while LSU will lose theirs.

1) Ohio State (if LSU wins the natty)
2) Clemson
3) LSU
4) Alabama
5) Florida, Georgia, or Oklahoma

If Clemson wins the natty this year, they would start next year #1.

Probably #4 behind Ohio State, Clemson, and Alabama.

Fields and Lawrence will have OSU and Clemson 1 and 2. Alabama probably #3 just cause.

Polls are going to reflect national perception that this year was a fluke with Burrow.

No, I don't think LSU has ever been pre-season #1 after winning the NC, because of losing their starting QB.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised to see UGA and Texas up there as well, if Fromm and Ehlinger return.

Probably #4

So the polls will reflect LSU had a fluke season by putting them in their preseason playoff prediction?

They’ll be top 6. Clemson will be 1, OSU 2 and Bama 3/4.

Not unless we are blowing Clemson out and Burrow sits midway through the 3rd and Brennan comes in and throws 3 more TDs.

That would be pretty awesome though.

Joey Galloway better for sure have LSU preseason #1 in that scenario or he has zero credibility going forward.

We’ll be top 5.

Right now assuming Tua doesn’t come back I would predict:

#1 Clemson
#2 OSU
#3 LSU
#4 Bama
#5 OU
