Yards? I'd give us a 50/50 chance of putting up 40+ yards.

will that change your mind about Crowton?

No, 40 or 50 yards is about what I'm expecting, so it won't change my mind at all.

no. Crowton had 12 games this season to show us his offense and did not produce good enough results.

If they score 40+ hopefully Crowton will get a huge bonus, a raise to around $1 mil a year, and an extension for at least 5 years with a $20 mil buyout clause.

Hard to imagine us scoring 40+ on PSU's defense. IF we win, I'd guess it's something like 24-23, 24-20. It should be a close game either way.

Mr. Crowton, thank you for the amazing game plan and execution of that plan against Virgina Tech in 2007. Every game since has pretty much been a "what the frick are you thinking" moment.

No. My problem with Crowton goes back to last season. In both 2008 and 2009, LSU QB's showed little to no improvement from their first start to their last start. He's the QB coach. For that alone, he should be fired.

Other teams are winning with young QBs (Bama for instance). Why not LSU?

The best thing about LSU scoring 40 points on Penn State would be that Crowton can point to that game as evidence that he knows what he's doing for his prospective employers.

Saying Bama's QB is a young QB is like saying Matt Flynn was a young QB in 2007. RS Junior is not the same as playing true freshmen and true sophomores. I remember how bad Rohan, Nall, and Booty looked as a RS sophmores against Auburn. Not many QBs get it the first year like Hodson or have enough talent like JaMarcus as a sophomore to be a good QB whatever the system.

Our offense has been sliding since his arrival every year. He is done. We need a solid OC from somewhere.

McElroy is a RSJunior, he's been in the system for 3 yrs. He had very little experience, but with Bama's running game & defense, he wasn't asked to win any games for most of the season. IMO, he's just now come into his own as far as his progression goes. He pretty much won the Auburn game and he had a huge game against FLA. But, he could have easily lost the SoCarl game this season, he sucked it up in that game. Thank goodness we had a running game and a stingy defense.

Put up 40+ against PSU? In how many games? 5? 10?

No.

Crowton is horrible. Bowl game doesn't change that.

McElroy is playing behind an offensive line that has not been called for holding since October, just coincidently the South Carolina game. I wonder if that has anything to do with his improved play? Nobody has been able to get anything close to a decent pass rush on Alabama, and it hasn't been due to lack of effort by the opponents or the effectiveness of Alabama's running game. And how likely is it all those holes Alabama's running backs have gotten have been opened without a single holding infraction?

McElroy is an unfair comparison. But compared with Garcia at South Carolina, Cobb at Georgia or even Snead at Ole Miss Jefferson does not come out unfavorably. In fact the only QB in hte SEC who improved dramatically over the course of the season that I saw was Crompton at Tennessee, and he could hardly avoid it given his suckage at the beginning of the season.

A) this will not happen

B) if it does, it means some horrible virus has infected the PSU defense. in this scenario crowton should not be given credit.

the man should be fired, end of story.

Nope. LSU usually fires on all cylinders for bowl games.

He did the same thing last year, lit up GA Tech and then fell flat this year. Nope, he needs to go.

I am not worried about what he can do to Big Ten teams. We need him to beat SEC defenses.

BBIIGGG difference!!!!
