If LSU had beaten FSU the way the game unfolded…

How would Tiger fans view that win? Imagine having the ball on the FSU 8 with less then 3min to go up by 7 and you fumble it away and allow a 99 yard drive, after getting gifts of two muffed punts, an errant snap that killed the first drive and a gift of a blocked field goal?

I’m super stoked that the players fought hard all the way through and nearly pulled out the victory despite all the challenges which included the immediate loss of your most athletic Dline men and the best DE due to targeting.

LSU simply doesn’t have the dudes this year to win the sec, yet they appear to have a ton of fight and a QB that can make plays.

I said at the beginning of the season I would be really happy with 8-4. Likely 7-5

I still think 7-5 is likely.

Exactly. It was ridiculous to believe this. However, I did feel we had the dudes to beat Florida State and I was wrong.

We did have the dudes for the most part, execution was sorely lacking. It’s on the coaches to get it fixed and I think they will. We are looking at a season full of toss-up games, this one broke against us.

If they would have pulled off a lucky win…..I’d still have a negative assessment of the game overalll……

BB, I think they did have the dudes to beat FSU. However, they can’t overcome the mistakes made yet. If they played again mid-season I think you get a very different result.

You weren't wrong, we just didn't do it. Having the dudes to win and actually winning are two different things.

They always say that your biggest improvement comes between week 1 and week 2. FSU was already in week 2. If FSU hadn't had a warm up game then they would have had similar rust to LSU and it would have been a wash. It took LSU 2.5 quarters to shake off the rust. If LSU played them again this week they would win.

From what I see on this board, and I enjoy reading here, it would not have mattered if LSU had won 60-0; there will still be whiners. I am not concerned about this team at all; go back and look at the current top teams in the SEC, GA, and Bama; when their coach first started, they were not great hell; Bama lost to ULM. So, I give the bayou Bengals credit for not quitting and continuing to fight to the last second. There were many boneheaded mistakes, which is to be expected in the first game.

I agree with this. Also consider FSU did not have a brand new staff, half a team of players who were not LSU players last year and are not 7-10 players short of 85 on scholarship.

Extremely fortunate...I said it before, the score wasn't indicative. FSU was much better all-around.

You might be right, I certainly hope you are. I should've clarified. We did not have a team ready to beat FSU on Sunday.

Adversity is a great medicine. Long run we will look back with thankful eyes on this game and it’s outcome.

Admittedly, was not fun to watch and not my fav kind of waking up after an LSU game.

This team has grit and talent, most of what matters.

About the way they viewed 'beating' Tenn at the last second and being 7-0 with Les.
Lots of worries...

Kelly would have been an instant hero if he had chosen to go for two.

Way too conservative all game long on both offense and defense.
