So, Anne, you’re ok with LSU performing at 7-5, 6-6, etc.? That’s good enough in your book?

shite, he’ll be employed if we go anything better than 6-6. Frustrating, but that is the situation we are in.

True. Alleva let Duke suffer through 9 straight losing seasons before his was FORCED to hire Cutfcliffe. Simply put, he’s football cancer!

I don't subscribe to this idea that he had to go no matter what. There are SEC programs that would kill to have his performance record of even the past 5 years, let alone when we were competing in SEC championships and NCs

Interesting thoughts considering how hard you’ve been on Orgeron for the last 18 months

If the team goes 9-3 with those losses and then wins their bowl game, I think he’s definitely back for one more year at least.

Do they lose to anyone else? If no, then probably not. If yes, maybe. Depends on who and how the rest of the games looked

Especially if the 9 wins show no signs of improvement on offense in production and scheme. What was the fricking point if LSU is still wallowing around on offense ?

7-5? Someone needs to go.

If 3 losses are to the teams mentioned in the OP, the other 2 would have to be either:

MS State (1st year coach)
TAMU (1st year coach)
FL (1st year coach)
AR (1st year coach)
Ole Miss (2nd year coach with probation-decimated team)

With the exception of maybe MS State (and you've got them at our house), any of these is a horrible loss. Losing any of them, plus losing to good teams on your home field? If you can't beat them at home, you definitely won't beat them on the road next year.

I'd say that's enough for someone's arse to be grass.

In this I think style points matter. Get blown out in those games and squeak by in others? They’re probably still gone.

Well, to a certain group of posters 9 wins = 11 wins really, so losing those three would still be a fantastic 11 win season.

So yes, O will be lauded for a 9 (read: 11) win season and will be granted a massive contract extension. Such is the situation we find ourselves in now.

Why the frick would we fire "another" 9-3 coach?

I think we all need to remember that losses are never O’s fault, so no matter what our record is O will be undefeated.

This entire thread is stupid. You dont just fire a coach because of principle with no viable plan. That is what landed us in this position.

What coach that is top tier would realistically be available?

I'd go after Fuente. He should be obtainable for LSU

You don’t know until you conduct an actual search which is why someone other than Alleva needs to be in charge.

Until that happens we should just ride this one out.

I don’t see us winning more than 3 SEC games so we’ll find out.

What a dumb arse question! So LSU has no other options than a bottom tier DL coach? Lol
