always love to hear the old cliche that the coaches know more or know best. Are they human, do they ever make a mistake?
Of course coaches make mistakes.
The point of that cliche is that the fanbase is not privy to what is happening in every practice, meeting room, film session etc and the coaches are.
You’ve read one page of a book that the coaches have been reading for months and now want your review to matter more than theirs. It doesn’t add up.

So why did Kelly recruit him back out of the transfer portal? I would feel a little bit betrayed if I was Myles.
Myles is a big boy who made a choice to come back with the full knowledge that he was not guaranteed a starting job. Kelly recruited him to stabilize the QB room. Since then we’ve brought in another Vet QB and Nuss has stepped up in the competition and both have passed up MB, given the recent reports.
Myles has no one to blame but himself for both staying and for not winning the job. It’s a tough position that only 1 guy gets to take a snap at. He knows that. Atleast I hope he does. Seniority does not get you playing time, performance does.

I agree so don’t take my words as being a sick. Love the Rant and LSU.

It might be right and it might be wrong. Urban Meyer thought Joe Burrow wasn't good enough to start at Ohio State. Would you say that Urban knew best then?

And a national championship ring, playing for the best team in history. Lot's of everything a young man can hope for, I think he is a fortunate.

We play FSU in 21 days and Myles is working with the 2’s, 3’s, and walk ons.

He gets paid $9.5 million a year to coach at LSU, I’m sure his judgement is better than yours and mine

You can’t have ethics in big business? Maybe we should not treat our players like big business treats their employees.

This is a hundred million dollar business. It’s not about hurting feelings

It does suck for him
I think he’s being told though that he has nfl talent anyway and he could make if he wants. Maybe not as a starter but he could make it.
I find it hard to believe that he would not be one of 100+ qb’s in the nfl.

Wow you must hate it for all the other tigers that compete and get beat out to play. There’s plenty.

They are minor league NFL players.
I don’t feel bad for NFL backups so I’m not feeling bad for these guys. P
I don’t care that they stuck it out or they are LSU guys.
They get paid and are free to go somewhere else.

I like Myles but I don' think his release is the best. He throws is so hard I see balls being tipped up and picked off. He doesn't have as good of touch on his passes.

While I agree with the whole post…this is confusing statement. We won the Natty in 07.

Question is has MB put in all the work required to lead an SEC offense to success?
If he has & still gets beat out, nothing left to do but transfer to a lower level school.
If he hasn’t…that’s on him.
I don’t know which is true.

quote:Well let's see now. We've had more starters than I can count that left with eligibility remaining so they could get the cash. So now even if he doesn't start Myles is supposed to stay and be a great teammate? We've had players who didn't play in bowl games for fear of getting hurt. Hell, we've had players who dropped out mid-season or skipped a whole season for selfish reasons. Why even Nuss himself didn't want to play in a bowl game when we didn't even have a quarterback left, for reasons I still don't understand. But let's reward Nuss with the starter's job and Myles should play cheerleader because he is, wait for it now, a GREAT teammate.
You Play the best player. It’s always been that way. I hope he stays and is a great teammate.

should have transferred when he first went into the portal. It was a terrible mistake to come back
Yep, this, all day.
He just isn't our guy and hasn't been for 2 years. It was over.
Nuss was better. On that note, I want LSU to win, but frick Nuss for selling out on the team last year.

Haskins had 50 TDs and 5000+ passing yards in 2018.

MB has had plenty of chances to take the starters role and he never has. I love the kid, but it appears others have passed him by

I would think what I said was pretty obvious. How do you judge the quarterback position and the way a player does it. Are you looking for a passer who will hit a high percentage or a runner who will manage the game. Do you like an offense with a pocket passer or someone who will roll out a lot. These are all valid ways to look at it but to say that Myles lost the job because of something he didn't do and therefore it is his fault is ridiculous. Myles is still a damn good player. He isn't the mobile quarterback that Kelly now seems to want but that isn't Myles fault.
