If all the Ohio State BCS games were played in the snow in Ohio, would we get arse-raped in front of women and children every year?
I just spit pop on my computer sceen.
Actually, these were Wisconsin fans disccusing this and I figured I would get straight up answers from here.

This is such a ridiculous thought that is often asked. Now, the Big 10 schools start their schedules the first weekend of September. It's often pretty hot up their in early September.
Through most of September it is fairly warm there, just like the South. By the time the bowl games come along, the weather in the Deep South is rather pleasant and sometimes even cooler than early October in Michigan.
With all this said, the Southern schools get no more advantage of playing in warm weather than northern schools.

Yes.
Reason they don't play in cold-weather stadiums: cold weather sucks.

I dont think most of the games would really turn out that different. I guess passing games would be most affected, what with the frostbite on the hands.

less people in the stands.
Not really sure about the games. It could possibly be an advantage for the northern teams.
Every team plays and can play well in warm/cool weather. That's why the bowls aren't much of an advantage unless the bowl game is really close to the school's campus (LSU in the Sugar, Florida in the Outback, USC in the Rose, etc...) But when LSU plays in the Capital One, it's the same thing as Michigan or Ohio State playing in the Capital One. Either fly or take a 10-hour drive.
Only certain teams play in cold weather. So it would more than likely be an advantage for cold weather schools.

Wrong buttercup. Just watch that mighty Saints Offense in Chicago Thhursday night.
It would not be fair to warm weather schools.

Well, I did say the cold might affect a passing team more, but to me a lot of southern teams run the ball as well as the northern teams. So I dont how big a difference it would make overall.

That Saints-Bears will game will be ugly too, both teams playing on short rest in the cold. Ugh. Bears will win by 10.

I don't think its too hard for fans to sit through a game in the cold. Just look at Green Bay/Chicago/Buffalo/NE/NYJG/Washington/Philly and even Seattle where its 40 plus driving rains. People still show up in numbers. If your team is playing in the big one then I think they'll brave it. Its the southern fans who think cold is a nasty four letter word that bitch. I'm curious how many people on this board have played football in the snow? Its a blast, lot of power running, but not impossible to pass.

I was just asking something for a discussion, that is all.

The people in charge of the BCS would be dumber than I thought.
Who wants to watch football in the cold and snow? Why do you think the general trend in college football for the most part is for the premier athletes in this country to go to schools in the West and South?
No one wants to freeze their arse off all fall and winter. I lived in Milwaukee for a year and for the life of me can't understand how you people live up North your entire lives ... it's pretty frickin miserable in the fall and winter.

I love cold weather. The temperature for OSU-Michigan was perfect, IMO.

WOW, I honestly have never head anyone say that. Most people in the Midwest, East love fall. 50's or 60's, sunny, crisp dry air, changing leaves, CFB.........

I don't like the cold and snow unless it's on a mountain and I can ski

lukestar,
I appreciate your opinion; however, I have never made any excuses for Ohio State loses and never will.
