I heard it in the radio this afternoon. I think ole boy from Tiger Rag was saying that he's expecting Orgeron to get a raise considering what he's paid vs other SEC coaches.

What I say to that is plainly no. Why? Because LSU needs to use the common idea of demand here.

Is there a demand for Orgeron right now? No. It's rather simple.

Aranda and Corey Raymond are the only coaches on staff I’d consider giving raises to.

The administration has made it more than clear that they don’t care about winning championships or beating Bama. All they care about is doing better than what Vegas projected so they can say LSU “exceeded” expectations.

O produced a winning season, beating several ranked teams and missed having 10 regular season wins because of official malfeasence. LSU now has the #3 recruiting classs. Being the bargain basement coach that he is, he deserves a raise and a big one.

I can't disagree more. A competent coach would have gone 11-1 with that talent, and given a better effort v. Bama. Jimbo or Mullen could have, maybe even Stoops of Kentucky.

While I do think O did a decent job, it is not time for a raise. You have a DC making 2.5 million(highest paid coordinator in country)and the 5th highest paid staff in the country. I’m sorry, but the world I work in these results do not constitute a raise yet!

If he is deserving of a raise, where are all the suitors at his door trying to steal him away? The lack of any sort of negotiating acumen or awareness of supply/demand on this board is astounding.

Do you all get raises and additional guaranteed money annually just for doing your damn jobs?

Seems ridiculous.

The whole point of hiring O was to be cheap and also have a highly paid assistant staff.. which they do..

Shouldn't having a guy that no one else wants and is at his "dream job" have it perks?

I just don't get any of this talk. You see how quickly it can come crashing down. Auburn extends and raises their coach I believe? And he had actual offers and his "home" team Arkansas, was very much in play.. and the very next season they already want to get rid of him..

O has a current contact.. enough of this extending and raising. I mean WTF.

I agree 100%. A raise doesn't make any sense in this current system. Priority 1 is retaining Aranda.

Why don't you whiney punks give it a rest? You've been hating Coach O for two years now, and when he does more than ANYONE thought he would, you just keep harping on why he doesn't deserve what any coach in his position gets.

I wasn't crazy about the hire either, but give the man his due. I know you can't stand it that he didn't completely fail, but LSU is on the upswing. Try being a fan for a change.

No raise now, if you make playoffs next year we'll talk. If we fire him after next year, we owe him 6MM.

It makes no logical sense to give Orgeron a raise. It's not in his contract, and he absolutely loves his job. It would make no sense. None...
