Key and Bower splitting the jack role in the 3-4 with Lacoutre and Davon at DE. Man Valentine would have been huge to have in this system.

Someone posted that he runs a 1 gap 3-4 and that it does require as big a NT.

I think Gilmore can fill in.

Dude. Imagine Gilmore in the middle with the combination of Davon lacoutre herron and Neal on the sides of him :nana:

1 gap actually means you are going to see more of a penetrating NT. So he'll be on the smaller side.

of course we'll see tons of fronts, im guessing.

Need a true monster for this scheme. 330ish. Recruiting a few big beasts is essential, but maybe beefing up Gilmore can suffice as well.

Haha. You know he's better than Keke right? I know that's a tough pill to swallow.

You still need a big enough NT to try and draw a double team, but you don't need an enormous one.
Gilmore is 312. I think that's good.

Godchaux Gilmore LaCouture on the front seems possible.

Wade Phillips has had sub 300lb'ers at NT in his 3-4 1 gap in the NFL.

Exactly.

The NT in a 3-4 1 gap system doesn't have to be a monster because he's not taking in double teams. He's shooting the gap and disrupting things in the backfield.

Key played quite a bit standing up during the bowl game. I was very impressed with his versatility. I think he can definitely play 3-4 OLB.
