Sounds like he feels he owes Harris something? I always thought BH was a good kid. Is it possible that he's a prima donna in the Jordan Jefferson mold?

Whichever guy gives us the best chance to win is who I want under center. I think Etling has earned the chance to show what he can do against an SEC defense. If he's constantly looking over his shoulder because he's scared to make a mistake, then he will eventually crack under pressure.

I got to believe Etling will be the starter just wants to talk to the team and let them know first.

We have a winner.

Exactly. The cops don't release names of the deceased to the media until after their families have been notified in person.

Miles isn't going to crush the kid even if he knows Etling is the better option. Harris is still needed as a backup at least.

Word just leaked that the team was told Etling will get the start, but there's about a .001% chance Les comes out and names him in the media. You'll get "reports" that Etling is taking first team reps, and Miles will continue to say Harris will be ready when he's needed.

I don't really care what a coach says during the week regarding a starter at QB.

All that matters is what actually happens.

how is it "crushing" a kid to demote him?? Players get demoted every week on every team.

Jeez, did any of you people ever play competitive sports??

Yeah, I did, but never in front of 100,000 people that spent the entire offseason asking if you’re finally going to be a good QB, only to be benched after blowing a nationally televised opener at Lambeau Field and having all of the national media calling for you to be benched.

But you’re right, that’s the same as playing basketball at a 2A private school.

Look, I want Etling as well, but Brandon seems like a really good kid who works hard on football and in the classroom. He doesn’t have the disposition or temperament to be a big time QB and that sucks, but we don’t have to be assholes about it. It’s not like the kid isn’t giving it his all.

The key word there is “kid”. And most of us are grown arse men. It’s time we start acting like it.

I agree there is not a reasons to name a starter...the players know who can lead the team and that influence will determine the starter...coach is on the hot seat and he is smart enough to know this position is important...yet has done very little to correct it!! Rest assured, Danny E can't lead this team through the rugged SEC....is will take a more talented QB for this. If he could not start at Purdue....can he lead us to where we want to go? Come on!! I know tiger faithfuls understand more about football than that for sure!! Who that is to lead us...not sure...but he can't and I hate to say it? Not sure who can? We need to be worried about the receivers, offensive line play...which is the worst that I have seen for the past forty years. I can't leave out the defense...how bad are they? This is a talented bunch and we are playing so mediocre....evaluate that! Herein lies the problem with our leader....he has to continue and evaluate looking for results. I am just going to say a prayer for the Tiger Family to get better and Les provide the leadership needed at his position. I love the tigers!! Buddy R

Y'all act like the playbook is going to be any different if Etling starts. Did you even watch the second half?

Did you watch the 2nd quarter? Either the play calls or the execution looked totally different than before he was in.

It wouldn't hurt even a "kid" to get a dose of reality. The reality is he stunk up the place at Wisconsin and the stench carried over into the 1st quarter of Jax State. The reality is he hasn't gotten the job done in a long while. If Les lets him start over DE, then BH will retain his sense of entitlement. It time to get a dose of the real world...because the pros will not care whether or not he is a "kid." Riding the pine might just make him buck up and act a little grown up...and he sure could use a dose of that.

Justin MacMillan had more passing yards than Harris. Our 3rd STRING QB had more passing yards than our starter...That should be crushing to Harris, not that Miles sat him.

For those who say its 2014 over again, it is. Sources close to team have indicated that its Harris vs. Etling on the team. Claims indicate it was the same with Jefferson & Lee. Players are arguing. They do not see Etling as their leader/homeboy. Think about the obvious dropped passes this past weekend. Dupre and Harris are boys, tight like peanut butter.

Also note, that Miles didn't support Cam's offensive scheme with wide outs. Cam opened it up on his own. That's why Miles was pissed. Information I've seen indicates that Cam has disagreed with Miles on Harris vs. Etling since the spring. And Miles' effort to keep the peace by starting Harris has backfired. That is why he hyped up BH being different this season.

The whole thing is falling apart, internally destructing. Flashback to 1/9, this thing is worse than thought, and has never been fixed.

Why would you prepare a team coached by Miles with HarrIs at QB.
We've seen that show.

Dan Mullen to his defense;

"Ok we need to prepare for both QB's from LSU this week so here is what you need to know. One QB might complete a pass or two the other probably won't"
