I went through a period of "lets get rid of Miles"... But when the grass eating thing came up I actually "got" Miles in that moment... It really was an epiphany of sorts for me regarding Miles.

Ever since then I have been a supporter of Les "Have a Great Day" Miles.

So yeah.. I was wrong.

since we really need to wait to judge this team after all games are played I have to say that this is by far the most impressive LSU team I've ever witnessed at this point in the year.

I really do hope Les retires here and goes down as the greatest coach LSU has seen. I'd be totally for a statue commemorating him.
Better than a Saban statue LOL.

Probably the beast LSU team ever and a shame if they slip up against BAMA and don't win it all but next year if they stay remotely focused will be even better!! Wow has the last decade been the best ride ever!!

yep, I have to bite the bullet too. He has done a great job this year, I still think the offense could be run a little more efficient, but it's hard to argue when you have blown out 5 Top 25 teams.

Les, you da man!

Whether or not we go on to Atlanta and beyond this year, this is a fantastic team from top to bottom.

They're like an unstoppable force, but even an almost unstoppable force will need some luck to win in Tuscaloosa this year. No shame in losing there IMO.

frick that noise. Miles isn't paid 4 million a year to finish second (or worse) in the SEC West for four consecutive years. And let's just be candid, LSU fans don't start the season dreaming of a trip to the Capital One or Cotton Bowl. We want championships. If this team is as talented as we all think and Miles is a great coach, we'll march into Tuscaloosa and beat Saban's fricking Tide team.

No moral victories. They're bullshite. Win on the field.

I've consistently said and thought that there's too much luck involved in winning the BCS

That's retarded. We've kicked arse this year, and if we continue to do so then we will win the BCS. There is no luck in dominating opponents week in and week out

Miles has done an amazing job with the recent hirings of Chavis and Kragthorpe. With Miles' impressive recruiting and these guys teaching the elite talent this has become a very very special year to be a Tigers fan.

Kudos to Miles!

I doubted him after the Tenn game in 05. Had a couple of other times where I wasn't comfortable. But for the most part I have had confidence.

I am one that has been a critic of Miles, and I must say that I was wrong about him also.

He is a hell of a coach, but it still comes down to SEC championships, and this years toughest games of the schedule are coming up.

He needs to get this team to Atlanta, THIS year. That's what it's all about.

All that said, I can't think of any other coach I would want.

I know, but you can win a BCS without dominating opponents week in and week out.
I'm saying things could happen to keep this team out of the BCS, but that won't mean they're inferior.

The point is not just that this particular team is so good. The point is this team proves that Miles can build a dominant program, and that means I have been wrong about him for years.

It takes one hell of a coach to build up a team with this level of depth.

He just needed time to recruit his players. Saban's players were weighing us down.

I never doubted his ability to bring in players based on the coaching staff he put together. He did what 99% of other coaches would not do, and he kicked off a QB who was crutial in the 2007 BCSNC run without having a legit back up. The doubt was in his ability to coach all the talent Louisiana and east Texas have to provide. And he still makes me nervous as a fan when he plays players that are not as good as their backups, simply for what seems to be seniority.

example: 2001 LSU season
RUSHING CAR YDS AVG TD
S. Ware 128 512 4.0 6
M. Ford 67 359 5.4 6

based on these stats, Ford would have 700 yards and 12 TD right now if the BEST back was starting.

Flam away Ford haters.

Ware is the best back, no doubt from me on that.

You said it well. I never thought of it that way, but that's why I like him. He is a LSU fan.
