I will say I've never seen an LSU team this good. At first I was not a Miles fan but sine last year I am a HUGE fan of the mad hater. This guy will go down as a legend at LSU just like his idle did at Michigan.

I was always a big Miles supporter, but I don't think I (or anyone) can honestly say that believed he was capable of fielding this kind of team. We're better than 09 Bama, maybe better than 04 USC.

To tell you the truth, I think he has learned along the way.. Think about what he has done and went during to get to this point.

Bad Clock Management= corrected
Co Defense Coordinators = corrected
Gary Crowton = corrected
The belief of Playing seniors, not no more = corrected
Being predictable = corrected
Etc , etc, ect, etc, etc,

rtgr would appreciate this thread, hope he is still alive and well. It's been a long time since I saw him post here, berating many of us(myself included), with "sonny boy".

You know, I love Coach Miles. I wrote to him last year while I was in Afghanistan. He wrote back, telling me thanks for my service, and thanks for being a loyal fan. Shortly after that he sent me a autographed picture, and sent one to my wife and dad. I couldn't believe it, this was in the middle of the football season, and he took time out of his busy day for a fan. I don't care what anyone might say about Coach Miles, but one thing that you cannot take away from him is his Integrity. His integrity is what has made us love and hate him. He sticks by his guns and is unapologetic about. That my friends is integrity at its finest.

I need to see another SEC Championship before I will admit it. But I am willing to concede that Les has improved dramatically as a coach during his tenure at LSU. He is a good coach and he makes LSU interesting. But it's about championships and if he ends this season without one, that makes one SEC title in seven years with the most talented teams in LSU history. Les deserves credit for the talent and depth on the team and the complete domination so far this year. But let's wait to assess things after the first Saturday in December.

LINK ...

Mercy, mercy Wisconsin, Oklahoma, our LSU tiger football team is obviously better then all the experts expected. And yes Les Miles and LSU's coaching staff has done just about the best job that a man can do.
Wow...

Being good is one thing. They are the most talented team I have ever seen. If they don't go to Atlanta this season was a huge disappointment. I don't see how Bama can beat us after watching them struggle against an awful Tennessee team. I guess we will see

aah.. not disappointing anyone by actually giving a compliment to this team/coach.

Regardless of what happens at Bama, this has been a wonderful year so far.

Everyone rants - "the wins don't matter as long as we play well"

Now we are playing well and winning and now comes another whine

Dude you are never going to be happy.

Unfortunately logic doesn't work that way. The rantards screaming that Miles is an idiot who can't coach are equally wrong as those who put the blame on coordinators/other coaches/circumstances.

All the credit for the wins go to him and so do the blame for the losses.

Miles is the head coach - he is the guy who got the BCS title in 2007 and the same guy who lost to arkansas and responsible for the UT bungle.

You cannot pick and choose only the good or the bad - but luckily for the LSU fans he is also the same guy who is going to be hoisting his 2nd crystal ball on Jan 9th 2012

God in heaven, have I lived to long...LINK .. War and destruction death and pain. People walking around without a job. Children not getting to go to a good descendant school.
Men and women not respecting one another. Our society in decline. And more...

All I can think of now in 2011, is how great the LSU football team is...What a wonderful job Les Miles has done. The sound of the tiger band, the sight of the golden girls...Thousands and thousands of happy LSU tiger fans.
What has happened to me?

Amen

Ok, be a holdout if you want - the party still goes on. And may I say that some champions win trophies and rings, but a precious few just ARE. For me, CLM and LSU together fall into the latter category - Champions, always - come what may!

The Iowa debacle would not have happened if Miles was the coach. The Miracle on Markham would not have happened either. The UAB would not have happened. Just sayin.

I was wrong. The game management and verbal gaffs were getting in my way of appreciating his W-L accomplishments. With Crowton and Peveto and Mallory out, Les has the machine humming on the field and am sure he has learned a few things this year that will help the team off the field.

He is a man that looks to do things his way sometimes to a fault, but at the same time seems to have learned and adjusted when his decisions were not the right ones.

This LSU team has been the most fun to watch in my lifetime because of the different ways we have found to dominate opponents - running, passing, turnovers, punting, kick returns. You name an aspect of the game and it seems there is a different one every week that stands out.

Honestly, I have liked him all the way... he had some issues, co-defensive corrd., crowton, some clocl management(which i put on crowton), but he always dealt with the issues and took care of the teams interest.... even if it hurt(Periloux)

First of all, you are young (I think - not a put down), but were not wrong.

Miles came to LSU and brought his incompetent buddies for the most part and then his loyalty to them, caused LSU 1 or 2 seasons.
He is not a good manager of people, but getting better.
i.e. Co defensive coordinators, Crowton forever, etc.

That was then and now is now. Miles, like most of us has learned from his mistakes and gotten rid of the incompetency around him while surrounding himself with much better coaching talent. He, also, in the process has learned much along the way.

The Miles of yesterday and the Miles of today are 2 different coaches. Give him credit for having done so, some never learn.

There is always also more to learn.
