Called a great play on the goal line that LSU scored on in the first game of the season last year. Should have tried that play last week at the 1

There is nothing wrong with the offense, Brennan held the ball too long in the 1st game. Yeah, the 3rd down situation was odd, but they still put up the points. Now find us a defensive mind, that holds teams to 13-14 points per game.

0-10 on third down = something wrong with the offense

I like Ensminger, but he was always supposed to be a placeholder. Then, instead of capitalizing on winning the natty and getting a top of the line OC, O just keeps him anyway. Then, instead of interviewing several high caliber DCs, O just goes and gets Pelini, a man who has been out of work for years, failed at his last job, but used to work at LSU and is someone O is comfortable with. All credit to O for last year, but man, the longer this season goes on, the more it looks like he went cheap and lazy on his hiring.

Yes, but that “something” could be nothing more than inexperienced players playing together for the first time in meaningful situations. It’s obvious the O line has issues right now that need to be addressed. Hence why we can’t run the ball. There was zero reason why LSU shouldn’t be able to line up on the 1 yard line and get in the end zone by running it right up the middle against a team like Missouri. That’s not a knock on Missouri. They just do not recruit at nearly the level we do. This O line can not get any push against anyone. Part of thatis inexperience, part of that is these frickers got lazy after winning a championship last year and a part of it is on coaching.

Pelini was the head coach at Youngstown St. since he left Nebraska. He was not out of work. The situation is bad enough you don’t need to make up lies to make it worse.

On a list of things that is wrong with this LSU team the offense is pretty far down. Before 2019 many of LSU fans would have given their first born for this type of offense.

This is in no way shape or form defending the current LSU defense and coordinator but these guys just don’t exist anymore.

Come on do you really believe that E orchestrated that historic offense last year lol? There is a reason NO programs even attempt to hire Steve as OC. O just feels comfortable with Steve and it will be his downfall just like Les.

alabama can't even do that any more. they give up 40 points some games.

you have to have some stops on 3rd down or turn overs and then take advantage. efficiency on O is very important. especially red zone conversions to be elite. IMO.

How many points were we given on turnovers with few yards needed to even score?

Good teams still find ways to punch it in and bad teams don’t. While third downs have been a problem.. a lot of factors go into that like a banged up offensive line, dropped passes, playing behind in down and distance. We are scoring a ton of points, defense is playing a 7 on 7 all year.
