You think starting Lee will stop Crowton from calling the option? Or other plays that have proven to fail? Have you been paying attention?

We ran the option with Lee last year.

Hatch was Crowton's option master. I really miss that guy and his Harvard smarts. We need that back.

I don't know if I want Lee to start, but I think he deserves an opportunity to prove that last year was just that - last year. If nothing else, we need to know that we have a backup in case JJ can't go for whatever reason.

I think it would be wise to see J. Lee for a few series.

If he does well, then Miles faces a conundrum.

No, it doesn't but one has nothing to do with the other. The correct QB is starting which has nothing to do with a play that is being called by Gary Crowton. As far as it working, I would love to see them run the counter option at least one time before they trash the option. I believe the LSU ball carrier (QB/RB) would still be running since the defense is used to first move rushing.

I'm sure that I should care about what you want...I'm just not sure why I should care.

Part of me thinks Lee's arm will open up the playbook, but the other part of me asks why he wasn't starting in the 1st place if he was better than JJ. JJ looked like he had no clue what to do at times. Very frustrating. I thought Lee should've at least gotten in the 2nd half for a series or two.

Which is why he will not play, unfortunately.

I remember JL running the option several times last year. My first thought was WTH? But, he actually gained some yardage a few times. He obviously is not as quick as JJ, but he did run close to the line and looked much more efficient. He just ain't gonna bust a 20 yarder when he carries it.
