I thought Brian kelly was supposed to be a offensive genius

I used to dislike Les Miles for refusing to adapt, even when it was clear the offense was outdated. Brian Kelly once impressed at Cincinnati with his creative offense, but now at LSU, he seems just as stubborn—and without a national championship. Playing Nuss while he's injured cost us the game. I've lost patience with the BK experiment; it's time for him to go. Les 2.0 isn't what we need.

It’s been 17 years since BK was at Cincinnati. What was creative then isn’t so creative now.

I see your point, its just hitting me how hard headed and outdated he really is now.

I thought he was a technician of the game. Especially after the Alabama game win with two minutes to go in the game he decided early on that he was going to go for two.

I really thought he had his stuff together. But he’s really not able to piece together all three phases of the game correctly.

I’ve always wondered why he’s been considered an “offensive genius” by some. He’s a former LBer & was a defensive coach for the first 8 years of his career.

I guess he evolved to an “offensive coach” during his 12 years as a HC at Grand Valley State?

I wouldn't be surprised if the present LSU playbook is the same at the Cinn playbook 17 years ago. BK is a dinosaur

Specifically, he is supposed to be a great O line and tight ends coach.

Notre Dame fans often complained about QBs consistently regressing under Kelly.

What he ran in Cincinnati damn near 20 years ago is probably obsolete now

Yeah I mean he was a DC early in his coaching career before he became a HC. I’ve never known that he was an offensive player caller or put an offensive scheme together but people always say it’s BK’s offense. Maybe he became an offensive guru at Cincinnati or something? I’ve always thought he was a CEO type of coach.

I know HCs have a hand in offense but BK has never been an offensive coach. He had been a DC and defensive position coach but never an OC or offensive coach.

I don't have any personal issues with the guy. He does his best, as did CEO and Miles. But am I the only one who notices that after every lousy offensive performance (every game except SELA) he says, "We need to prepare these guys better. And that's my fault and I take responsbility for that." I'm tired of hearing that. DO something about it!

It doesnt matter how you feel. It matters how much you got in your wallet.

I do feel your pain too but I also realize that what we have now is way more fixable than what we had a few yrs back.

What I am worried about is our brand popularity relative to our backyard neighbors like OM, MSU, Tex, and aTm. They are looking sexier than us right now and it will crimp us in HS rec and the portal.
