So you are saying we should have hired fedora? Herman and Jimbo weren't available to us nor was Kelly. I liked Mullen and stated on this forum only to be called an idiot by all you morons. Coach O was about the best choice we could go with at that time. I like the way he has handled the job so far and still expect great things from this program with Coach O at the helm

Let me explain something to you Space, a 3-21 conference record and a 10-25 overall record sucks. No matter how you slice it. And the really funny thing about it is, you prop up that won/loss record for o, yet trash Miles record over and over and over. All that seems rather stupid to me, friend.

When Miles was hired in 2005, i wasn't thrilled about it. But he pulled that 2005 team together after the storms and proved to me, that he was the right man for the job. Ed O gets named the interim coach and even though he wasn't my first choice (or second, or third), I was willing to give him a fair shot. the team responded well after Miles was canned, although LSU was playing against some of the worse defenses in the SEC. But when the Florida game rolled around, and the team got into the pre-game shoving match, and then he allowed a hurt Fournette go ahead and suit up and play. He lost me right there. He showed no leadership in that situation (in my opinion) and let some of the players call the shots
This season rolls around and we see multiple linemen leave the program, suspensions up the arse and the putrid month of September, these things just make me feel more strongly about his hiring being the wrong move.
The team finished with a decent record, although it was pretty much on par with a typical Miles led season, and Miles would have gotten raked over the coals for this kind of season, not praised like o did.
We all know that o will be here a few more years at the least. Perhaps he can sign a decent recruiting class and make some noise next year. But as of this moment in time, I'm not an o fan.

Man, I honestly didn’t realize this thread would make a stir like this....interesting to see where we are as a fan base as far as supporting O. He has a lot of work to do which I completely agree with. All I know is, he has my support 100%, and this team.

It is hysterical, because it undermines yours and everyone else who wants to praise O for going 6-2 in the rough and tumble SEC, where half the teams are ranked below the Sub Belt champs
