Without stepping on the toes of tiger20 and other Brady supporters, I get the overwhelming sense that former players, either from the Brady era or before, didn't care for the man.

I heard several interviews with former players and they each appreciated how TJohnson went out of his way to embrace them and welcome them back to the program. Ricky Blanton was on the radio in front of the PMAC right before the game and talked at length about how he thinks Johnson will certainly reap what he sows by reaching out to the former players. If you do a lot of reading between the lines from these players, it becomes clearer and clearer that they have lost no love for JB.

Brady made it clear when he started this was his program and really didn't want to have anything to do with the past.

And that was a mistake. Who wouldn't want to have guys like Blanton around their program?

Brady alienated the fanbase. Badcat will come on here and claim the "coach bashers" ran Brady out and the program into the ground, but the fact is Brady really could give two shits about LSU. T Johnson, meanwhile, has embraced the university and the program's past...almost as if he wanted to know everything he could to progress into the future.

Daddy Dale made it quite clear that Brady was an unwelcoming host. Brady never did what Dale did - go to Dean/Skip and demand that we have certain promotions and events parralleling the games. Brady made no effort to unify the former players with the his and the fanbase. Brady just assumed it was all about winning and recruiting - nothing else.

When you make a cheap hire because your program nearly gets the death penalty, you will get a cheap return in sincerity, character, and passion from a fanbase. Tiger20, Bad Cat, LSU Beatles, and the like treat Brady with kid gloves and use sanctions to mask his poor coaching ability. NO coach was going to succeed with sanctions...so it wasn't Brady being shortarmed.

Brady didn't give a shite about LSU and he recruited kids who gave two shits about LSU, as evident by their character (Minor, Lloreda, Shawnson Johnson, J. Young, Gipson, Bush, Koundja) and lack of team player attitude. When you don't really embrace who you represent and respect it, how are you supposed to ask for that in return?

Dale took a couple of subtle shots at Brady today and ripped on him more openly last night as did some of the former players. It's been fun to see a lot more former players in the Pmac this season.

Yeah, today, Dale might as well have just said "John Brady is an a-hole." I could take a hint.

I have noticed it...and I don't point this out to rip Brady...I point it out because it is what it is. NOT ONE SINGLE PLAYER has come out and said "Man, it's too bad Coach Brady can't be here to join us"

I was wondering earlier what today would have been like if Brady was still the coach?

Well, in Brady's defense on this one...the players from his era who were worth a shite are all playing pro ball right now, and the ones who aren't, you wouldn't want to see anyways (such as Chico Potts and DeJuan Collins)

Brady is a hot topic this weekend because of the alumni activities and many of the former players talking about how the new coach has gone out of his way to welcome the old players back into the program.

CT3 and Hudson were good players during Brady's tenure.

I'm obviously on this board a lot more than you, and there aren't 20 threads a week on Brady.

Why not just do a search for Brady over the last four weeks and come up with 80 threads that were started concerning Brady? I'm calling bullshite and I bet you can't do it....

We bring up Brady so often to show just how much better T Johnson is? Could you imagine Brady coaching at Stanford?

Brady just didn't love LSU. Remember his press conf? He tried his damndest to make sure he cried, but he couldn't. He really, really was all about Brady, Misty, and his players in that order. That's not so bad. The fact that he didn't give a damn about LSU is.
