Why would he want come back here. As I recall he basically got run out of town by the same group of so called fans wanting miles to go now. Same thing was said then. Offense sucks. Predictable bla bla bla. Same spew different year. Why would he come back here so you guys could bitch wine and moan about how he's not good enough....

one, criticism of jimbo never got out of hand until miles became coach. two, maybe he'd come back because he would call all the shots instead of wearing miles handcuffs... just a thought

Your recollection is incorrect.

With all due respect to TD, I doubt that posts on the Rant are going to run any coach worth his salt out of town.

Just went through the web archives for end of 2006. There was nothing said negative about Jimbo. People were worried he would leave to be HC of UAB or leave to go to Michigan.

Cam's best year at LSU #43 passing offense #33 overall

Jimbo the year he left #14 total and #20 passing #27 rushing.

So you are saying we "ran off" the OC with the #14 offense?

Sure there was criticism every now and then but shite even bama fans criticize Saban every now and then.

Jimbo was just sick of Miles' meddling in his offense and the micromanagement that came with it. His daughter sees a doctor here in Baton Rouge and they commute back and forth quite often.

I remember the same. People said he was too predictable and didn't maximize their talents

You, and posters who make things up to support your "our fans our horrible" narrative should be banned, IMO.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Yes, there were fans that didn't like his offense, but to say he got run out of town by the fans? Do you hear how stupid this sounds? I'm amazed at the level of childish finger-pointing on this site.

I'm afraid you are dead wrong. In fact, this was the first time we heard rumblings of Miles interfering with the offense. Jimbo was extremely well liked here and still is. In fact, I've been told by a few reliable folks that he was actually considered for the HC job when Saban left, but the consensus was that they really wanted a proven head coach and even Jimbo said that he wasn't ready at that point.

So I actually look at what TG had posted in 2006 and see nothing of the sort. I do not recall anything of the sort and I was actually here. But posters that came after 2007 suddenly remember this as fact.

The funny thing is, if Jimbo was here the last three years and they'd gone exactly the way they have at FSU some of these idiots would want him on the hot seat next season. Can't you hear it? We got blown out by Oregon in the playoffs; it's such an embarrassment to the program. We barely beat Miami this year and Clemson destroyed them. Then we lost to our biggest rival and they are #1 in the country right now. We lost to a bad GT team and are on our way to a shity10-2 season. Blah blah blah. Don't say it's not true. All you have to do is search posts on this board between 2012 and 2013.
