Les has never lost to A&M, he's never lost to Carolina... he's never lost to Auburn at home. He's won 4 of the last 5 against Ole Miss and 7 of 10 overall, and he's won 4 of the last 6 against Arkansas and 6 of 10 overall
SO... That means nothing coming into this year....

I haven't seen anything or heard of anything that would make me think we could have better than an 8-5 record again, 9-4 record.

If Harris starts, we have a shot to run the table or get 10-11 wins...Jennings starts? We'll be lucky to get to 8-9 wins

well you better be ready for 8 or 9. lol

Nice selective date range.
I'm not the one just laughing at ND like a fool when the last game each of these teams played, ND beat LSU.
And no, I didn't include Kelly's first 2 seasons, because he took over a program that went 16-21 the previous 3 years. Expecting him to win 9-10 games out of the gate is unrealistic.
My comparison was Kelly's 3rd,4th,5th seasons versus Miles' 8th,9th,10th season. Neither of them have any real excuses at the point.

I hear the hype-tards but I am having low expectations for this season. Holes in the D-Line and the same QB doing the best he can which isn't good enough will result in about the same thing we saw last year.
Those are my expectations.
Those are my expectations.

Then I guess we'd better watch out for McNeese, Syracuse, E Michigan, and Western Kentucky. They could give us a serious challenge.

So you're in support of the position that ND has a more talented roster than LSU, and is capable of an undefeated season with minimal production from the quarterback position?

JJ was completely and perfectly dreadful in important games while at LSU.

I am saying ND had a undefeated regular season more recently than LSU.
But it's more of how you just dismiss anything and everything that doesn't fit your agenda. The lack of vision is frightening.
Urban? blah blah blah something thug fake health
Kelly? blah blah blah ND is ND
It's like you live in your own tiny little box and realities such as Urban winning 3 NCs in less than 10 years at 2 different schools, ND beating LSU and having an equatable record of the last few years to LSU, and LSU losing 3 of their last 5 games to end 2014 - don't really exist.

Optimistic, yes. But what is different from last year that will produce different results?
Well we'll have Beckwith starting all season instead of half the year with Welter
Should have improved chemistry between QBs and WRs

You'll have to clarify your position then because you're riding coattail to that argument. LSU has certainly not been among the elite in the last two years (or three), a stretch where they lost 18 underclassmen to the draft and went 18-8 (9-7). However, they are clearly in a better position for another undefeated regular season than Notre Dame.
And as said, Urban is perhaps unequaled as a college coach.. but I have personal reservations about how he runs his program. I have a great deal of respect for Les for sacrificing the 2008 season by kicking Perrilloux off the team, and for doing the same in 2012 with Mathieu. I can't imagine Meyer ever doing the same.

I must confess that the hype-tards have me expecting a great season from LSU
If the defense is anywhere near as good as the hype, that alone should keep the Tigers in every game this year. All that would be needed to make a legitimate and perhaps irresistible run to the championship would be a decent QB.
When teams return less than 70% of their games played and 60% of their production, the team will be looking at experience issues.
Last season, LSU returned only 53.13% of its games started on offense and 65.24% of games played. Worse, almost all of the production was gone: 36.65% of the rushing yards returned, 12.96% of the receiving yards returned, and 5.55% of the passing yards returned.
This season, LSU returns 66.43% of its games started on offense, and far more production: 65.13% of the rushing yards returned, 86.02% of the receiving yards returned, and 100% of the passing yards returned. On top of that, LSU returns three starters on the line. LINK
Completions and passing yards require more than merely the QB having a strong arm. The WR has to get open, the 0-line has to give the QB time to throw, the QB has to throw to the open target, the QB-WR timing has to be right, and the WR has to catch the ball. With all of the returning experience and production, I expect both Jennings and Harris to have increased production in 2015.
Miles and Cameron have never played a QB who did not give LSU the best chance to win. Both Harris and Jennings looked good in the spring game. Whomever the coaching staff chooses to start, I look forward to the play of that QB. I'm happy with either QB, and I'll let the professionals who see them practice every day make the decision about who plays.

Besides a different team, different schedule, and different opponents, nothing.

So miles kicking perrilouix off the team he sacrificed the season??? That's just stupid. I doubt lsu does much better than what they did. The d that year was horrible. One man does not make the team. Plus I doubt lsu does much better in 2012 with just rn.

Jarrett Lee single-handedly lost us the Georgia and Alabama games.. and we started Jordan Jefferson as a true freshman against Ole Miss and Arkansas... yes, I think that year would have been much different with the reigning SECCG MVP than with those two.
And that doesn't even touch on the impact Perrilloux would have had on our 2009 season as a redshirt senior. It's not a stretch to say that had he stayed on the team, 2014 would have been Miles's first season as LSU HC without at least 10 wins.

For a person who appears to be reasonably intelligence, you can make some very poor assumptions...sports wise. imo
I don't know how anyone who watched RP play in 07 can say they think he would have been anywhere near 16 ints with 6 pick-6s. RP was coming into his 3rd season of playing time and instead of having the experience, we went with guys having NO playing time experience.

Same story, different year. Doom and gloom after the season ends. Optimism starts to build a little after signing day and by Fall, we're underrated, disrespected, ESPN hates us and we'll be in the national title picture by November.
