Yet we have missed some. See Naz Reid.

I don't know why your post is getting so many downvotes. I thought the same thing as it happened. What if Mays is just expecting the layup, and gets surprised by the ball and drops it, in a one possession game. Just lay the ball up and get it over with.

Anyway, great win for the Tigers!

It was an atrocious decision, but F*CK BAMA! It was atrocious and beautiful and successful! So I'll allow it.

i agree, too close of a game at that point, an it wasn't like it was Taylor, no hops mays barely clears the rim.

Like the dog in him though. That builds confidence, just dont do it in a close game.

I don't believe there was a Bama player close enough to have even challenged for the ball if that would have happened. They were pretty much all alone weren't they?

It was risky, but they probably do that in practice so much that it's automatic when there are no defenders. Plus it got them jacked up for the end.

The only way I would have hated the decision is if it was Naz trailing.

I don't remember where the closest Bama player was, but I'm not talking about if Mays missed the dunk, I'm talking about if he drops the ball. With his momentum carrying him out of bounds, if the ball hits his hands and he fumbles it, it probably bounces off of his body and goes out of bounds.

It looked to me like he checked all around himself for defender, made sure his teammate was following, and they both knew what was going to happen. It honestly seemed pretty safe to me.

I guess that's possible. IMO if he drops the ball then Tremont is right there to pick it up. I loved the play. I thought we lacked energy after going up early and it was nice to see us make a statement on a game winning play.

Well if he drops it straight down, then yeah. In the scenario I mentioned, it would have basically been kicked out of bounds. It's not that it was egregious, I just prefer to save those kind of statement plays you're talking about, in a game that is already in hand.

It's kind of like these guys who want to show off with a fancy dunk and end up missing. I just like to get the points safely in that situation.

Oh well, all is well that ends well, I suppose.
