You may have made a decent point but all anyone read was "unacceptable". If you're going to use a strong word like that, follow it with "for anyone not leading the free world in batting average".

i thought he would have got in front ball to try and block it instead of playing it off to the side. he was not playing hard enough to back his pitcher as hard as his pitcher was competing
Quote from the advocate on mainieri reason for benching Jacoby.

So he benched him for not hitting or fielding. Shocking.

Kind of bush league for Mainieri to call him out like that.

looks like he got benched for lack of effort

His slump at the plate seems to be affecting him in the field too. You can just telly by his body language.

He coached little league brah

Rhymes made a few mistakes in the outfield. It happens. His batting average easily outweighs these mistakes.
That blanket statement doesn't hold true when a guy throws behind a base runner allowing him to take a free base and then score, nor not getting to balls most outfielders would, nor chronically misjudging/misplaying balls. The corner spots in the outfield have poor footspeed which needs to be offset with early recognition of the flight of the ball, which hasn't been demonstrated. The corner spots just haven't been that good in the field no matter who has played them this season, and limited range makes opposing hitters look good at times.
Although there are some untimely mental mistakes, this team is apparently close to maximizing its physical ability, some guys just struggle at the plate. They still were able to put the worst game of the year on UK's starter Sunday, which leads one to believe pitching in that weather was challenging for both teams. Given that and where LSU is STD, the guys are doing a tremendous job as a team.

Thank you because everyone thinks its just about his errors. Even though his .919 fielding percentage ranks at the bottom of all outfielder's in the sec. Add that with everything you said above and there's your reason for letting him DH.

5 errors. We are talking about 5 fricking errors
seriously GTFO with this shite. You have to be kidding?! you really wanna bitch about 5 fricking errors committed by a guy who's hitting .500 after around 40 games?
kill yourself...because you'll never be happy with anything

Think mathematically. Consider all the base advances Rhymes' .919 fielding percentage indicates him giving up. Now compare that to all the base advances his .500 average gains for his team.
If he were batting .300 or even .333 maybe, MAYBE, then you consider what you are talking about. No way you screw with a guy hitting like this. Never. It would be like talking to a pitcher about the perfect game he is throwing between the 7th and 8th. You don't do it.
Or maybe you are just in here rustlin' jimmies.
