"I am the search Alleva" devalued this program by hiring a DL Coach without bona fide occupational qualifications. Alleva fired Miles with the explicit goal of hiring an Offensive-Minded Coach with the credentials to compete with Saban. That was not done.
Talent does not win: Coaching/QBs/Offense wins.
LSU has had top 5 Talent Composite for 5 yrs and barely made the Top 20 this year and for the past 6 yrs, dropping out of it in 2014.
You can choose to be a homer, ranter, "posi-tiger", and back Alleva or you can look objectively and analytically and advocate for what is best for LSU.
After 16 seasons under the leadership of first, Nick Saban and then Les Miles, up to 2011 LSU returned to national prominence. Alleva may have given all of that back with the hiring of Orgeron. His top qualifications for the job seem to have been he was interested, he was available and he’s from Louisiana."
In reality, the criticism aimed at "O' is really just a shot at LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva who "rushed to hire a man with no other offers and a career 3-21 SEC coaching record."
LSU faced a Top 5 SOS in 2015 and Miles landed the #2 Recruiting Class for 2016 (why he was retained).
2017 was an historically low 42 SOS, + or - depending what service calculated it and whether you take into account SORecord and SOResume.
Next year is going to be an SOS equal to 2011 and that is going to test Alleva's/Orgeron's survival skills.
So don't worry with an Offense ranked 71st this year vs Miles' 43rd in 2015 (without the cupcake McNeese game)...
what could possibly go wrong?
With a recruiting class currently ranked 12th with 19 commits vs Texas ranked 2nd with 18 commits watch out for Jimbo, Mullen, and Chad Morris.
Orgeron will not likely land a Top 10 Class. Just look at the Rankings, there are 5 teams right behind us with far fewer recruits -one recruit will push them past LSU, and teams ahead with fewer recruits.

I’ve never taken up for Alleva, talent does win and our QB play has vastly improved since O took over, 80% of the classes you’re talking about no longer play here, 2011 has nothing to do with this year, the attacks on O are seldom a product of the hate for Alleva and attacking a coach because of his AD is too stupid to even measure, 2017 wasn’t a historically bad schedule, 2005 was worse and never once brought up in anyway, we returned 7 starters this year and you’re saying expecting improvement is ignorant which itself is ignorant, complaining about this years current class being ranked 12th is presumptuous and misleading when you consider Alabama’s class is currently ranked 24th and finally saying Orgeron is incapable of landing a top 10 class when he landed the 7th ranked class already in a transitional year isn’t only speculation but has already been proven wrong. That about covers debunking your agenda driven dishonest post. Nice try though i bet you do a good job fooling barstool drunks with that crap.

You're okay with losing by 30 to cowbell university?

AMEN!!!! When a coach or team does bad, people let them know, so when a coach or team does good, the same just reward should be given. After the Troy loss I was bashing O and this team, but when I watched what they did this season after that, O and this team were special, mettle, heart, determination, grit etc. Can't wait to see what this team can do with more experience. I can't stand it when people acknowledge failure but refuse to give credit when success has been achieved. Paul Finebomb called this team a middle-of-the-road team, which means they ain't no good. I don't recall him giving the staff and players their props after they came back and played so well after the Troy loss. Coach O has done a great job this year, I know he has a lot of success to come at LSU.

Hey we had a winning season AND we get to play in a quality bowl on New Years Day. Big time exposure. Should help recruiting, especially if we win the game.
