Congratulations, you fell for it. He will be playing, no doubt about it.

It would be naive to think that Tua's camp isn't considering keeping him out for the rest of the season so as not to risk his NFL contract.

He’s playing, and honestly it doesn’t matter if he does or doesn’t play

Either way, LSU is winning in Tuscaloosa. They need to figure out how to stop LSU, what Alabama’s offense does or does not do will not be the story of the game.

Don't fall for it. Team Hawaii is not risking his millions in the NFL. He's done playing college football.

This is patently incorrect. The whole point to the “tight rope” procedure is to get back onto the field. You know, like the “tape” they installed in Drew’s hand? If Drew wasn’t trying to get back, they would’ve done the normal procedure and he’d be out for a couple of months. With Tua, if there was no intent to get him back on the field, they would’ve put him in a boot for a couple of months so he could heal normally (and probably have a much better long term outcome).

Besides, I want Tua to play...I want to see his mascara run after the game.

How is he doing this exactly?

The surgery on his ankle made it as structurally sound as the day before his injury.

Well, this isn’t true.

The “tight rope” is connected to bone by screws. To insert screws, you make holes in the bone. Making holes in the bone weakens it’s integrity.

Additionally, once you stretch out tendons and ligaments, unless you immobilize, they can’t ever be un-stretched. The joint’s stability is then permanently reliant upon the installed hardware. It will need regular revisions throughout the rest of life. I don’t know the rate offhand, but total knees and hips require revision surgeries every seven years or so, on average.

The surgery is very immediately effective, though, which is what makes it a good option for high-level athletes, for whom sports are a career. But there are no free lunches in nature.

He may not play, but Saban isn’t “confirming” anything.

That’s, like, totally your opinion, though, man. As are upvotes and downvotes. Don’t take it so hard.

If it was his planting foot (left foot since he is left handed) I would agree that he wont play. However, the tightrope procedure is not made to handle repeated stress that would be caused by running and planting your foot to evade tackles. So if he plays don’t expect him to be able to effectively roll out of the pocket or be much of a runner. This will allow LSU to avoid using up a LB or S to spy and make any blitzes more effective. Expect LSU to bring an abnormal amount of 5 man blitzes.

we may have a huge letdown thinking the game will be easy.

Only an idiot that knows nothing about football would even begin to fathom the notion this game will be easy, regardless who is the QB. If this happens with this team then we will know that Orgeron is NOT the coach to take LSU back to the promised land. A championship caliber team plays with the same intensity, the same fire and determination regardless the name of the other team or the name of the player. LSU should know to never take any team, anybody or any game for granted. If this is indeed what saban is trying to do, use such a psychological ploy against LSU, then he is scared, he is worried and nervous. And it will not matter who their QB is in November and it won't matter his name in January, LSU will bring the heat. Block out the noise forget about the past, forget about the names of the players, forget the rankings, just play with as much intensity and determination as you can possibly play. When January comes, it won't matter we beat them before, all that will matter is what we playing for. Orgeron will need to do what Miles couldn't, beat a saban led bama team twice in one season. And Orgeron and this LSU team WILL do it this season!!! AMEN!!!

I want to win however it happens and couldn’t care less if they have excuses even if their excuse is Tua didn’t play. But I also believe there is a 98% chance he will play.

The Gumps will always have an excuse.

They never lose.....They gave the game away.
They didn’t play Alabama football is what they say.

Truly a delusional group.
