Well I didn’t really mean it was a bad look nationally, maybe wasn’t the best choice of words, I just mean from where I’m sitting it looks bad. Being that all of the fans know he can play and I myself checked on it multiple times after the game to make sure it was in the first half.

I was watching that live and thought that was odd at first two, then I thought maybe it's a team punishment thing? Sits out first series or something?

cares? Does anyone truly believe O and staff would not know that he is eligible for the first half?
the fact he didn’t when asked this question is hilariously bad ??

Y’all are making too much of this

He got confused, maybe conflated the Arkansas DB ejection. He was asked a dumb question and fumbled his answer. Who cares.

His answer was alarming considering he should know whether one of his top players on an already depleted defense will play or not. Why defend this blatant disaster of an answer?

Arkansas went directly at where Ricks would have been the second he went out. We are thin as hell at DB, the fact that he didn’t know for certain that one of his starting corners wouldn’t be out is concerning.

I do not believe that LSU would mistakenly hold Ricks out the first half

It was a bad question and he gave a bad answer. I’m not going to melt over this.

We wouldn’t hold him out, the position coach or someone would realize it. However, even if it was a bad question, the fact that it could “confuse him” into thinking Ricks is out, shows at the very least he wasn’t sure. If the reporter asked that question to anyone here, we wouldn’t be confused or uncertain, we would just say “uh he is not out”

I think he just flubbed an answer. What it should tell everyone is that most Coach press conference answers are bullshitted

What it tells me is that he clearly didn’t know. Which proves the coaches do not in fact read the rant, bc there have been multiple threads on it dating back to game day

You're assuming he was aware of the rule, so why didn't O come back with the correct answer then? No one else followed up to challenge the question or the answer.

not knowing Ricks could play the first half on Saturday is inexcusable.

“Inexcusable?” Why does Orgeron have to know? The position coach is the one who decides, maybe with the defensive coordinator, who plays.

wow. The dumbest fan knows if your ejected for targeting in the first half your eligible the next game. That’s why he should know

Are you really asking why the head coach has to know the rules of the game? This isn't the tuck rule, or some other obscure rule nobody's ever heard of. Pretty much any typical fan who follows college football knows how the targeting penalty works.

Like I said earlier, I've been an Orgeron fan, but shite like this make me wonder if he's checked out right now.

I dont think hes checked out but he isnt an every detail kinda guy.

I'm shocked at how many people are surprised.
The guy has been a d-line coach his whole life.

Knowing that Ricks is eligible isn’t a matter of knowing “every detail”, it’s basic as shite.
