a year after producing the most draft picks, most first rounders ever, best team of all time
You know what? Clemson also went 15-0. They didn't crater afterwards.
Alabama and Ohio State have been up there, either with 1 loss or with less games played. They haven't collapsed; Alabama's 2 loss season last year was bad for their standards.
We had 5 players taken in the 1st rd; Alabama had 4 last year. 3rd time in 4 years they've had 4. They had 2 WRs taken in the 1st rd. Did this devastate their talent pool? NO... they have more 1st rd guys coming out this year, including another WR (and would be 2 if not for injuries).
Coaching is never about last year's results, the second you do that you lose focus on the current year.
If Ohio State collapses in a year or so (to the level we have), Ryan Day is out on his arse. That's because he's working on Tressel and Meyer's foundation, and they're not going to frick around and blow that up.
We shouldn't treat LSU any differently. O is running a program Saban built up and Miles maintained (bitch if you like about that, he stayed a winner and made a few runs), and it's now off the rails.

Correct but they've never had an inexperienced team as LSU is. Orgerons 2018 class came back to bite him.
Most of us knew 2020 was going to be a bitch, which is why everyone knew he had to produce in 2019.
Sometimes success isn't good for a guy, and Orgeron is that guy. He's living off that championship.

Seems improbable a thorough DC search wouldn’t have turned up better candidates than BP. Feels kinda like a lazy hire.
The replacement of Brady is also a head-scratcher. Why not go with another younger, hungry guy vs. an older ex-NFL guy? Again, hire feels lazy.
Absolutely agree if CEO is caught up in the T9 mess he should go. Otherwise, he gets 1 more season to change the program trajectory & his seat going into next season will be warm.
We’ll all be witnesses over the next year to whether “flipping the script” is a pan flash or the real thing.

As is the attrition after the draft this season. If the players love you, they don't bail out.

Is the man not supposed to get some puddycat? We supposed to have a bunch of men on our staff that get no snatch? Does her age even matter as long as she is legal?

We have the hardware from 2019. Even if we have to move on from him in the near future, his tenure was a success.

There were talks of us being interested is Barry odom but he turned it down. Now idk of thats actually the case or not and we probably will never know the full details on how the "search" went. I can see the logic in getting pelini but obviously I agree in that we should have gone after other guys before settling for pelini.

Again I feel like this is more of an issue with O thinking coach E could sustain what Brady brought in and thought Linehan could bring something different to compliment what we already had. I think it comes down to having too much faith and trust in what ensminger could do. Also the loss of Munoz I think was a huge deal.
This year has obviously been a humbling year for all of us but especially O. The only thing we can hope for is that O realizes the mistakes he made in the offseason when it came to compiling the staff and makes the right hires.

Missed the point.
How often do you see 60 year olds hooking up with someone half their age that makes sense from a judgement standpoint?
Of course the man has the right to find a new woman, but have the good sense to know your every move is being watched & judged.
The most powerful position in the State of LA comes with expectations of maturity, wisdom, dignity & class.
Coach Rob or someone he trusts needs to sit CEO down & give him some counsel on decision-making for the position he’s in.

Its been a pathetic year for everyone, that has nothing to do with LSU's roster issue or coaching woes.

He gets 2021 to prove that he’s the guy still. If he doesn’t get us to at least 10 wins with positive energy going forward, it’s time. We are not having a sub .500 season again.

He should get 2021 only if we don't lose a bunch to transfer and the recruiting class holds.
If those don't happen, they LSU needs to go another direction quickly.

And if this class stands his classes are (not including 2017, which he had a huge part in keeping together)
#15, #5, #4, #4 so his classes have only gotten better since then lmao
But yeah your right how horrible such a god awful recruiter ??

As angry as we are right now, he has earned the respect to give him a full regular spring, off season and season. No distractions no covid, regular rules. Regular schedule. I do think having an interim in mind in case shite hits the fan in 21 would not hurt. There’s gotta be someone that we can look to and say, this is the next man up if you don’t fix things. That can be motivation for O and the potential interim. It’s a mind game.

O wasn't ready for the success that came with the greatest season ever in college football. The millions of dollars he got, the divorce, new girlfriend, the newfound fame, many of men have been brought down with way less. It's just a tradgedy.

I disagree. I believe he earned the championship, but football is unforgiving on this level and rightly so.
He's got to keep earning respect, once that's lost it's over. For whatever reason his players didn't buy in this year and if the recruiting class falls apart, we are literally starting over from scratch.
I think there's only 65 scholarship players on board right now which is far below anyone else that is a decent football program. Roster management is lax.
