First let me say, if you're a LSU fan you can't be all bad. But a lot of you never seem to be satisfied. You expect us to beat teams like Vandy, McNeese, and others by 50 or more points, and you're pissed when we fall short of that expectation. It appears easy for you to forget when we used to do just that, but then we also always lost to Bama, Florida, and one or two more each season. Yes, we had those big blowout wins that got everyone excited, but then someone always came along to tag us with the mediocre label, every year. Is that what you want to return to?
Les Miles has never coached football that way. He prefers to navigate his way through the schedule, keeping it close to the vest until he absolutely needs to get aggressive. This is how he coaches and it's exciting.....and by the way, it works.
Get out of here with this mess. The disgruntled LSU fans have every right to be very dissatisfied with Miles over the last three years when you include this season.
We are a UNC drop, a UT illegal participation and a last second (6 seconds to be exact) pass (and lucky bounce on a fake fieldgoal) away from being 4-3 right now. The offense is still horrible...whether you want to admit it or not.
Face it, Miles has been very fortunate this season. The law of averages says that luck will run out at some point.
A game like McNeese should be a vehicle to get valuable playing time for back-ups and reward walk-ons for their effort and energy in practice. Instead, LSU was forced to play the starters for 90% of the game against a 2-3 FCS team (and risk injury) because of Miles "conservatism".
I'll give credit where it is due, LSU is 7-0. However, we have riden the razor's edge all season. At some point in riding that edge, you will get cut. That could easily happen this weekend.

People have said that every single year Les has been here. We won a championship and that year people were saying the same thing. Les has been here a while now and were still winning.

this is Miles doing the best that he can.
Yeah,it's a real pisser when 58-15, 7-0, 4-0, and NR at #6 is "the best that he can" do.
When the best results ever are not good enough, perhaps the problem is not with any coach but with those who can't seem to enjoy those besat results ever.

The same Nick Saban that ran off and left the team high and dry? Yea we really need another one of those.

If you are as happy and satisfied as you claim, why the frick would you even read something called "Tiger Rant"?

Do you disagree with anything that I said above? Do you agree that we are very fortunate to be 7-0 right now? Do you agree that Miles completely botched the end of the UT game? Do you disagree that UNC was throwing into the endzone to beat LSU at the end of the game? Do you disagree that we received a VERY fortuitous bounce on the fake at UF?
There is a legitimate reason why many fans are uneasy. That reason is Miles makes them uneasy. Does that make them bad fans for observing the obvious? Does that make them root against LSU?

Not quite true Doc, you went over the line with that one.

I don't think anyone wants us to be Arkasas or anyone else for that matter.
What we want is for the team to play to its potential, and for the coach to play the best players at each position, thereby maximizing the talent we have.
And anyone who thinks beating the likes of McNeese like we did is exciting is nothing more than a fool.
I don't expect us to flat out dominate every SEC team on the schedule, but I do expect it against D-2 schools who have no business being on the field with LSU.
Like most of us here, I can handle LSU losing here and there, but not when we play like crap every week and only get by because of a lucky bounce, or because the other team can't count.
That kind of luck will run out, and this kind of coaching will get us burned at the worst possible time. Probably this week.

The less we give the Auburns and Alabamas to look at on film, the better.
If this is true, then why wwhen we play the Auburs, Alabamas and Floridas, we still call the same crappy plays.
After this many years, you should realize the coaches are not holding anything back for the big boys. What we see week in and week out is simply the best they can offer.

Barksdale's injury took place in the 4th quarter. At a minimum, 75% of the game contained starters. Maybe 90% is a stretch, but not much of one.
Point being, when you are playing a FCS team that is starting a freshman QB and has a 2-3 record, you should be able to empty the benches and that obviously did not happen. It is a crying shame that someone like McCartney did not get to take some snaps because Miles was "conservative".

Teams with fluff games between big games almost never do what you are talking about. They are almost always flat and play a lot of subs.

Probably this week.
See, right there. The whole luck thing and we'll get beat this week. F that. LSU will physically dominate Au like they did MSU, TN, WV and FL. The score will depend on multiple variables but the game will be LSUs to give away.

I buy supporting the team win or lose, but I can't suport a coach who continuously makes the same mistakes over and over, and intentionally imoedes the offense's ability to get into any kind of rhythm by playing the worst QB in football, therey essentially forfeiting half or more of our drives.

OK, but you're changing gears a little. First you made it sound like starters only for 90% of the game, now you're quoting the O Line play, etc.
They were flat and were looking towards AU. I actually agree with that... I'd rather have 3-4 extra days to get ready for the biggest game of the year so far than worry about the spread against McNeese.

This is what I don't understand about some of y'all. We physically dominate but still need lucky bounces to win, and somehow y'all still think that Les is the man and everyone who doesn't agree is a hater.

I think this is what you will see going foward with LSU's run game. (see J.C. Copland move to FB)
[quote] Miles is an idiot and thats a fact.
And you are just dumb and proved it with this statement....Fact

What? I gave a reference to the fact that Barksdale was hurt in the fourth quarter...meaning at a minimum, the starters were in for 75% of the game...i.e., 3/4 (three quarters out of four) is 75%. He was hurt several game minutes into the 4th quarter...therefore, starters were in more than 75% of the game...some were end at the very end of the game.
I made no reference to the o-line play...simply that a starter was hurt in the fourth quarter of a game against a bad FCS team...
The fact that ANY...meaning one or more starters needed to play in the fourth quarter of this game is undeniable proof of Miles incompetence in many coaching situations...
