They're called "matryoshka dolls." Matryoshka is the Russian word similar to "mommy."

They are called that because the smaller dolls fit inside the larger dolls, like a mother having a baby inside.

I had several sets of LSU matryoshka dolls hand painted for me when I worked in Moscow. I kept one set and gave the others away as gifts.

Maybe I started a fad there??

Izmailovsky Park in Moscow!

Cool place, I bought some LSU Matryoshka Dolls there in 2000.

I'll post a photo soon!

Thats where all Americans must stay when they visit Russia. I've stayed there several times but I never saw any LSU stuff. That's cool!!!! Trindon should've been the last stackable, you are right...................

They have them all over Moscow, Kiev, Prague. I think they have one guy that reads the papers and gives them the top-5 list and they produce all the NFL teams and top college teams.
I have an LSU set, I believe with JMarcus...

AKA Russian Nesting Dolls or Babushka Dolls.

My dad used to go work in Russia as an instructor for Baker Oil Tools. He used to bring back these huge fancy ones and sometimes some sports ones. I used to love those things. He used to call them "Matrsika(sp?) dolls. Said thats what they called. Not that it matters. Just figured i'd throw that out there
