You're an idiot and this thread is stupid as frick Jmarc was a great QB at LSU and in no way did Flynn deserve to start over him Jmarc '06 - 232-342 67.8% 3,129yds 28TDs 8INT Flynn '07 - 202-359 56.3% 2,407yds 21TDs 11INT

Don't be dumb. Russell was a monster in college.

Thats pretty definitive. I'd love to know how people think we would've done better with Flynn in 06 or how we wouldn't have won a title in 07 with JR.

06 was a more talented and a healthier team.
Two first round draft choice WRs, Bowe and Davis, left with JR after 06. In 07 we had a redshirt freshman at offensive guard and a converted DT at OT in the OL. After the second game, we also lost a starting D Tackle for the season and then Dorsey was injured for several games. The only experienced WR, Doucet was also injured and missed several games, leaving Flynn with no experienced receiver.

yay lets throw russell under the bus.

That is the Rant way. Its not enough to cheer on one former Tiger, got to piss on another at the same time. Probably been waiting a long time to get that jab in to say "See I told you so".

If Flynn had a bad game, would the same persons be on here saying it proves JR was better than Flynn? I doubt it.

It's a very ignorant and infantile premise.

Flynn had Doucet, Byrd, Lafell and Dickson. Lets not pretend he didnt have people to throw to.

Jamarcus got Buster Davis drafted in the 1st round!

This thread is a disaster but at least it has provided an easy way to identify the extremely retarded.

Russel had a million dollar arm and a .50 cent brain. It takes a lot more than physical ability to be a sucessfull qb.

This is true. I always questioned why Jamarcus started ahead of Flynn, in was nice in 06/07 to have Flynn. Its a shame his career was wasted otherwise.

Jamarcus was like a circus act, I remember he tripped constantly on the hash marks. Might have been an early reaction to cough medicine...I also remember his appearance at the 07 Natl Championship game in his pancho and Bama bling what a classless act of representing LSU.

Jimbo Fisher said Jamarcus was very smart and he was able to do more with him than any other QB he coached.

Russell is not stupid.

I'm not really into hypotheticals, the one thing with Flynn would be how would he have developed if JR wasn't at LSU. It's quite possible he would have been a pure stud in 06 & 07. (Of course had JR not come Flynn would have had to compete with Robert Lane... )

yep, said he use to give him 4 plays to call in the huddle and that he could adjust according to what he saw at the line.

Jimbo's not the type to throw a player under the bus, but clearly work ethic was JR's problem. He got away with it in college because of arm strength, but the NFL game is more about quick decisions, the guys who are the most successful are the ones who put in the work.

You have no facts to back your claim that he was lazy in college, or didn't put in the work

Just imagine what Russell could have done with Gary Crowton to mold him...

Better yet, it was 4 complete packages full of plays.
