I remember when his hiring was supposed to be a massive deal.

Have yet to see it make any difference at all.

We have limited funds compared to some other universities, which is why we've lost any of our top targets.

Austin Thomas isn't a billionaire that is able to throw stupid money at 17 year-olds. He is in charge of managing the assets that LSU has at its disposal to create the best roster he can. We haven't gotten to the first open portal or early signing day yet. How about we let him do his job completely for the year before we judge.

The most important job is managing the collective and we have a nepotism hire of an assistant volleyball coach who won’t even return an email offering to help.

And, you'll never know if anything he is doing will make a difference because you don't know shite about what goes on in that football operations building.

He's not recruiting anymore in any grand fashion. He's managing the roster and portal. That's it.

Next time don’t give a 60 year old 100 million dollars. Get a young, hungry coach and invest the rest in players. The days of big money coaches should be over.

He likes walking around on the sideline with a headset on. Not sure why that’s even happening.

Idk. the actual guys with intel on On3 have suggested he inherited a complete dumpster fire and that it was going to take time.

what they're really saying is that Brian Kelly has outsourced his job as the CEO for three years and thomas is tasked with carrying the water.

I just have a difficult time blaming Thomas when it's apparent kelly is a cuck

I mean he expanded our wallet and will continue to do so. Some people are just dumb enough to think hiring Austin Thomas would prevent every recruit from flipping to another school and zero transfers. His skillsets are also primarily focused on the Transfer Portal, which LSU has expressed they will lean heavily on. Do you not expect current players to transfer in that scenario?

Salaries of AP top 12 coaches

1. Oregon - Dan Lanning - 9.4 million
2. Texas - Steve Sarkisian - 10.3 million
3. Penn St - James Franklin - 8.5 million
4. Notre Dame - Marcus Freeman - 7 million
5. Georgia - Kirby Smart - 13 million
6. Tennessee - Josh Huepel - 9 million
7. Ohio State - Ryan Day - 10 million
8. SMU - Rhett Lashlee - 2.4 million
9. Indiana - Curt Cignetti - 8 million (just signed extension 2 weeks ago)
10. Boise St - Spencer Danielson - 6.5 million
11. Alabama - Kalen Deboer - 10.9 million
12. Arizona St - Kenny Dillingham - 3.9 million

Those outliers will most certainly get raises or new jobs that pay them more, but no the days of big money coaches are far from over. Because finding a good one is most certainly a better investment long-term than hoping an 18 year old pans out.
