...this is sports... sports is/are a game ...we shouldn't be "demanding" shite in a "game" ...yeah, its a "business" ( is there even any "game' left in sports ) , but in reality - a totally unnecessary one ... you don't need to spend your money in it ... I like it when my fav teams do well...but I don't "demand" anything..
and I go to bars, restaurants, and use hotels for lots of reasons besides besides sports ...flame on rantards :jump1: :jump2:

That may well be true, but it doesn't change the fact that TJ should be given more time to see if he can right his ship.
3 years, when you are basicly starting from scratch in year 2, is a mighty short lead for any coach to be on and that's my only point.
As to the race idea, I have yet to hear the name of any LSU coach ever released at the end of year 3. We have had some pretty questionable football hires in the last 30 years or so and none of them went in 3 seasons.
So, the idea TJ would be released this season if he were white is silly and of no merit. imo

No you didn't. You provided more than one that were close to as bad.
1997–1998 LSU 9–18 2–14 6th (West)
1966–1967 LSU 3–23
2010 10-17 2-10, i was taught 9 and 3 are less than 10. secondly, this season isn't over.

The Brady example says definitely not this year IMO
Maybe after next year if the team sucks again

Trent Johnson isn't white? I never noticed
Posted on 2/22/11 at 11:45 am to Raparooot
No. We've kept white coaches in several sports around way too long in many instances. This has nothing to do with race.

Were you also taught that statistics are meaningless without context? Look at the scores. Look at the records of teams that are beating us.
1966-1967 is worse, but happened 45 years ago. Trying to compare it favorably to 1997-1998 is idiotic if you're trying to prove that he's doing a good job. That team was under severe sanctions like the NCAA has rarely seen. This team has no sanctions whatsoever.

Heck no, Brady got 10 years.

And brought LSU to a Final Four and a Sweet Sixteen. Wait, I forgot that Collis Temple, Jr coached those teams.

How many of the ranters have been to every practice and seen Trent coach? I don't know what he is doing in practice, beside crying. But college players are already stuck in their habits of skills that a high school coach should have taught them.
I did watch the Bama game where it was a known fact that they do not shoot threes. Trent played in a man to man defense. And they shot in the lane all night long and got tons of offensive rebounds. Where was the drop back zone???????
That is a small example of somethig I saw.

I do agree they learn bad habits before college, but players probably make their biggest improvements at the college level. Some bad habits take longer to break than others. He could very easily break Stringer's habit of jacking up stupid shots by sitting him down.

If Les Miles was black would he have been hired?

yeah right. this is an ignorant statement
"But college players are already stuck in their habits of skills that a high school coach should have taught them"
Well here is an idea, if their habits are that bad and you can't break them....Don't sign them. Let UNO have them which is where most of them belong anyway

Since you know, TJ can just go in and run a HS practice and see if he can break bad habits

HUH????????wtf does that mean

You said "if their habits are bad and you can't break them then don't sign them" correct? How on earth do you know if you can't break the bad habits until you coach them?
