They did that the first 7 games too.

But I mostly feel sorry for Leonard Fournette and his chance to bring to LSU the 2nd Heisman, and first since 1959.
Sure Stovall was screwed by the voters, but LF was screwed by the damn LSU coaching staff

I understand the opinion that the general approach / scheme may need to change.

But,in no way did this staff cost Fournette the Heisman. It's the scheme that put him into a position to get the Heisman. It's the OL/TE/FB that has totally destroyed any chance of him getting it now.

The front 7 was never going to be good this year, Alabama was the first team to challenge us up the middle instead of sideline to sideline...Arkansas did the same.

As far as the offense goes, we need to get back to the toss dive with Fournette instead of trying to be cute and mix up the play calling.

Alabama did not stack the box. Arkansas applied pressure with 4 people. We cannot block the edge. We can't pull anymore because as soon as we move, the defender is in the backfield. Our plays are too slow to develop and we wiff on guys who come in free. I wish it was a problem with 8 or 9 in the box. We are getting manhandled with their front 4.

I don't think Ole Miss is as big, but there are some major issues that Grimes needs to address. Some of it is the loss of the full back and our blocking tight end, but most of it isn't.

So for the first 7 games coaching was great huh?

Some of you really stretch it when trying to place blame.
Injuries and Oline playing better competition is as much or more to blame than coaching.

Just deal with it.

What is your explanation for how our OL has completely gone backwards?

It was clearly the strength of our offense for 8 weeks. Now it is the weakness.

What do you think happened? I'm hoping for a little be more specific of an evaluation than "how shitty the offense is".

Tough to block 8 or 9 guys with 6.
Didn't happen. You know how I know you are using a tired arse rant narrative?

Alabama stopped the run with 6 and 7 men. Arky didn't load the box because we were in 3 wide most of the night.

This is a crock. Last 2 games the OL can't run block or protect in 11 and 20 sets. You think Arky wasn't covering them?
Saban went hat on hat matching LSU OL form, and his DL camped in the backfield.

8 or 9 guys? Arkie used four with three sometimes two LB? Ran right through the line and sacked Harris several times. Alexander was useless in the forth Q should have been benched? What has happened? They just don't want to play? I don't get it.

THIS - After the Gump loss he was quoted, LF, as saying that his main job was "keeping this team together". I thought it was an ODD comment - but clearly there is shite going on inside the team before the Gump game.

This narrative is complete trash. It shows a complete lack of football knowledge and that you haven't even really been watching the games.

At what point do the individual/doubleteam blocking assignment failures own this?
From what I've witnessed, each member of the OL would get annihilated in Big Cat vs his responsibility in last 2 contests.

This. The players have to step up and make plays. They need to communicate with each other and keep each other motivated during the games in the huddle and on the field.

I wouldn't feel too bad for Leonard. He will get his. The reason the the offense is where it is now is because all they did was run him the first 5-6 games. No real emphasis was placed on the passing game. Well when you are one dimensional a high school coach could figure out what needs to be done. Most teams don't have the players or the depth to hold up for 4 qtrs. but the better teams do. Results are as expected. I think Leonard is a one in a generation player and great kid but I'm not sure if too much was promised to get him here. It takes more than one player. The defense is a different story. The only explanation is changing schemes has taken longer than expected. ALso players that were thought to be prime time players haven't played like it. Just my .02

Imho I put a lot of that blame on the o-line.
This shows complete ignorance of football understanding. It is not the o-line's fault that Fournette didn't succeed. Bama and any other top half of the SEC team can shut down a running game if it commits enough players. Blame the passing game, which includes the o-line, coaches, and all. We should have been able to pass. Nobody can say you should always be able to run, but you can say we should always be able to either run or pass.

How about when they tried to run in 3 wides and got stoned despite having a hat on a hat? Your narrative is lazy.

I hate to say this, or even think this, But could it be the sudden fall of the O-line could be them laying off because of all the praise Fournett was getting and not them?
