I expect an OC that runs a spread, up tempo offense, that can get the play in in time....

Good luck with those expectations. Spread offense is very unlikely with BK. Expect big boy ball, a running back that will be a leader, and a balanced passing attack.

That’s not true, he’s adapted everywhere he’s been. If we’re full of athletes, he’s not going to force them to play in a methodical offense where we don’t utilize our athletes.

Also spread is just a philosophy. Plenty of teams play big boy smashmouth football out of a spread. I’m sure Kelly wants a balanced team but he’s knows our strength is in our wideouts.

Bingo. Expecting a spread, up tempo offense is not a realistic expectation.

his offense at Cincy was a hyper up-tempo, 4-wide vertical spread

Spread isnt the only way to win nowadays. A regular old Pro style offense can still get it done if you are balanced. There is nothing wrong with the toss dive Les used to run, you just have to be able to throw the ball too for it to work.

How many people on this board right now think Kelly runs an old school, pro-set/heavy twin TE offense? I’d like a show of hands.

Then I’d like you to google ND highlights from this year and kindly STFU.

OC - Lebby or Ohio State OC

DC - Jimmy Lake, Belk or Arnett

Actually easier to find a Spread or Power Spread OC than the DC.

Jimmy Lake owns the Spread Offenses, he shut down Leach often.

Even the NFL runs more spread concepts. There's nothing "manly" about pounding your head against a wall out of a sense of masculinity. I bet you loved the Les Miles offense and the 9-6 wins.

I may be a minority on here but if BK can't get anyone he loves as DC, I'd like Daronte to get another shot.

I should not say it but I would like to see the 2019 offensive scheme with more balance. We must realize that Burrow was given the keys to a Ferrari and was a professional driver, he knew how to read and react. I never understood why teams could not have both. Why do you have to be spread/shotgun on everything when sometimes line up in an I formation and pound the rock might be best.

That was one of the most prolific offenses in history and you want more "balance"?

I don't care how many rushing yards we have. You have to pass the ball in 2021. You don't have to be "balanced".

Score as many points as possible as fast as possible.

This fanbase, despite the obvious staring them in the face, is still in love with the slow moving slam into 11 guys run 80% offense with a good defense play style.

Because when you have massive advantages at the skill positions you don't limit yourself to one guy slamming the ball into the offensive line over and over again. It kills time, limits the number of plays you can run and kills offensive rhythm because your other skill players get cold blocking every play.

Lsu has always been a team with speed and skill and it blows my mind after so many years of garbage offense people are clamoring for that shitty eye sore once again.

How many times did LSU beat Bama with that play? How about NEVER? Lsu lost to Bama like 8 times in a row with that offense despite having massively talented WR and overall talent very close to Bama.

Time to accept that offense is from another century.

Have both, OK

Do both, OK

Excel at both, not so fast

Different personel attributes are needed for each style. Players that can dominate at both offensive approaches are rare at the skill position and more so in the trenches.

I am not suggest that should be the entire offense.
