you think Dunn made the choice to keep him in?
you think CPM made the right choice?
Are you calling out everyone who thinks Bush should have been lifted after walking the 8 & 9 batters with their 3 best hitters on deck that would match up as righties?
Fans need to provide a resume in order to question the coaches decision?
You have never questioned a coaches decision?

man; he hasn't "allowed" Bush to do anything. pitching is a position of skills but also emotions and brains. a pitcher has to make adjustments to grow. PM's approach is to give his pitchers adequate time to do that. you don't like that, fine. but to expect and demand him to be able to know the future is unrealistic.
Bush has control issues. It doesn't take anyone with expert knowledge to know a guy that averages almost a walk per inning doesn't have command of the zone. He looked great in the 6th so I had no problem with him coming back out for the 7th. Bertman probably would have yanked him after the leadoff walk...I really can't see any tiger fans being happy CPM left him in to walk the 9th batter and then stick with him through top 3 in the lineup but on that I was wrong bc apparently some fans were absolutely fine with that decision.

It's not a matter of questioning a coach's decision. You made the comment that "anyone with basic baseball knowledge" knows better. My point was simply that CPM & Coach Dunn have a lot more baseball knowledge than the basics. I referenced your resume' to compare with theirs as theirs speaks to their extensive baseball knowledge. As to any right choice, are you privy to their reasons? Beyond having no basic baseball knowledge?

The knock on CPM has been leaving guys in too long. Do you disagree? I have listed my reasons I think he should have been yanked after walking the first 2...do you need more?
When you watch games you never think its time to pull him?

And not leaving guys in long enough. And not being aggressive enough. And being too aggressive. And for too often publicly holding his players accountable. And for not holding players accountable enough.

Go read John Wooden's book one day. Greatest coach of all time. His #1 focus and goal was winning his conference. He did this because he knew the schedule and it was a lofty but attainable and foreseeable goal. He never talked about winning a national title because the road was too unpredictable to even guess. Once the NCAA tournament started, the goal was to win the national title. But yeah, the focus on winning your conference, yeah that's just beta talk. Too bad you couldn't let Wooden know.

You should print the shirts for TCU anf Florida. I bet a lot Mainieri's former players wish they had shirts that say "we went 2-2 in the CWS!!!"
As opposed to shirts that say "SEC Champions".
To his credit, O'Sullivan has won the SEC a few times but not nearly as much as Mainieri. And of course the SEC East has been much weaker than the West.

those 2 are DESTROYING lsu at the cws. it's not even close. florida has played 3 TIMES the number of cws games that lsu has since 2010. way more competitive

Most people on this board can't even name the last 4 baseball NCs, but they are all 1st timers. Before that it was Arizona and SC.
Baseball has changed.

Don't want to start a new thread so will present this here :
A good friend that hates CPM said he was at one of the Auburn games a few weeks ago and met a guy from La. whose son now is an Aubie. The story is that CPM lied to the kid about not having a scholly for him then gave a couple to others after, so he was now playing for Auburn.
The dad says that son said everyone in
the team hates coach because he lies to them and has his pets, keeps them playing while better players ride the pine.
Any thoughts or other anecdotes?
Same guy that hated CPM for not playing Daniel Bradshaw a few years ago told me this story.
Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Oh to be young and naive. AL, you are clearly a new fan to this LSU thing. As an LSU fan, you must jump ship at the very first sign of adversity and blame the coach and administration. If things get better, you must still remind everyone of how bad things have been in the past. If things get noticibly better, you are allowed to hop back on the bandwagon and forget you ever doubted your team.
Repeat for football season and basketball season.

Team losing, people talk about CPM squandering all the talent.
Team goes on a win streak.
"I don't understand the CPM hate".
Such a lame thread to start after the team starts playing well. He's the only coach we have. We'll support him while the team is playing adequate to their talent.

In other words, as long as LSU wins the west, makes it to the CWS, and wins 2-3 games there.
I wonder if our fans have the same expectations in their own lives that they so eagerly place on 18-22 yr. old LSU players.

That was my thought exactly. Yet there is the guy at the game spreading this stuff. Are there any other reports of the team hating CPM as my friend tells me?
I remember when Bradshaw was playing, this was talked about a LOT in my part of the world.
