I don’t see Nuss making that second year jump like Burrow and Daniels

2018 Burrow was stuck in a very archaic offense. But, he still came off as poised with sound mechanics.
2022 Daniels seemed timid at times to let it rip and often held the ball too long. But like 2018 Burrow, he seemed poised with good mechanics.
When I watch Nuss, he just seems to always be in a panic. Happy feet, back foot throws, jump balls into double and triple coverage, questionable decision making. I don’t think his mechanics will be fixed at this point in his career, it’s not like he’s a true freshman or sophomore.
I’m also aware that the WR’s have made numerous drops, often at critical points in the game and that they may not be quite as talented as previous WR groups. However, that doesn’t really impact what I see in Nuss from a mechanics standpoint.

Any QB who has played at any level, even if they cannot run, has an instinct in them that if the defense is wide open and you can get yards by running, you do it if your reads are not there. He clearly doesn’t have this instinct and it is puzzling

Both Burrow and Daniels utilized their legs. What's the point of running zone reads and RPOs if QB refuses to run?

Half this board said this about Daniels too after 2022. People were upset he was coming back
"Daniels is a 4 year starter, 2018 was Burrow's first year starting, it's impossible for Daniels to improve. He is what he is, that dog won't hunt".

To be fair they said the same about Jayden

This, both Sloan and Nuss are hard headed or just way in over their heads

Daniels was not very good his first year here, don’t know what changed but he was mediocre as hell that year

Nuss looked great until the INT. Then he got the yips.
He has been our entire offense all year with no running game. Live by the gunslinger die by the gunslinger.
That game should’ve been won in the first half last night.

I don’t get this argument. JD wouldn’t throw the ball downfield year one. Year two he aired it out. Nuss can make a huge jump in year two. Doubt he ends up with a Heisman like the other two, but he can and likely will improve

Like I said in the OP, he was timid to let it rip downfield in 2022. Kelly mentioned it numerous times in 2023 how they really worked with JD5 to fix that part of his game. A lot easier to fix than terrible mechanics.

Nuss has a bad half of football and all of a sudden you fricking morons are throwing him off the bridge. Get the frick out of here with this talk.

My biggest problem with nuss it seems majority of his passes has to be perfect throw or perfect catch.
Never really seems like it's pitch and catch
Idk if it's the routes or the defense but it just seems often times we make it look difficult
Lot of one on ones
Fly patterns
Long outs
Just a lot of low percentage throws

Eh he's been inaccurate at times this year last night and OM in particular. He needs to fix that a little and maybe he won't take bad chances.

You are wrong. No explanation necessary

I had a lovely dream last night
Everyone knew what RPO meant
Also there were chicks with big titties

Nuss is never in a panic. He is always cool, and keep a confident demeanor. Even the commentators mentioned it. Get a grip. Nuss had a bad game, but it isn't the end of the damn world. And he is still a good QB that will be drafted high after next year.

The play designs are absolutely a problem. So many long throws outside the numbers or deep go routes. Couple than with a nonexistent run game.

Nuss panicked at least a dozen times last night
