Agreed. They need to understand that O is a grown man running (what was) a preeminent college football program and making millions of dollars. They shouldn't take criticism of him so personally.

I think we win as well. The pieces are all there to win 10 games this year, it's just a matter of Orgeron and Ensminger putting those pieces together and pulling the right strings.

I don't entirely disagree. I will admit to going overboard at times.

I predicted 12-2 before last season and I made a whole thread about how we should go 10-2 this year.

I just hate watching people make excuses before the season starts and for shitty play last year.

Ree will there literally every person associated with the university from Dave Aranda to the fans under the bus after a loss except for O and E

Boy, you sure have changed your tune on Canada. I remember voicing reservations when he was hired. I also remember you quickly dispelling those reservations with the infallible argument that he was the only offensive Broyles award finalist therefore he must be awesome. How quickly you have changed your tune

Like I said earlier I will be the biggest Matt Canada fan in the world on Saturday and wish him nothing but the best.

I am posting what happened. It is on ESPN and other college football sites. Facts are facts and nothing can change them.

There is absolutely no way you can favor LSU over Auburn, Georgia, or Alabama.....so you start out the gate having to win every winnable game just to get to 9 regular season wins....Yea that ain't happening.

Yup. And O hasn’t proved in his career that he can do that. Thus the criticism and skepticism is warranted and justified.

Absolutely. He did it several times last year. But, as I said, you just have to understand that he has some skin in the game and understand that everything he says is done so to paint Orgeron in the best light possible.

Was the offense better or worse in the First half of the Troy game?

This thread has now lost it's original identity. People are still crying about the first half of last season's game against Troy. Like it even matters for the upcoming season.

Me as well.

I think during Troy week we discussed this. When everyone could finally see what Orgeron was for real, that's when I stopped complaining so much. But Orgeron went on to beat a bunch of bad teams and people forgot how bad he was again.

It's as if some have amnesia. Very frustrating to see.

And I respect that. But, you have to understand that people are not willing to place blind faith in a coach or team just because they were nominated for an award. Some people choose to evaluate coaches/players on a deeper level than that.

You did it with Canada, you did it with Cregg, and you did it with Giles. I hope Giles wins the damn award this year, but the fact that he was nominated two years ago does not mean he is going to light it up this year. He was in a pass heavy offense and played in a conference that doesn't value defense. He'll be tested this year against some of the best cornerbacks college football has to offer. Let's hope he lives up to his potential.

So, after Troy, LSU was 6-2 the rest of the way against the schedule laid out in front of them. One win was over Auburn who won the SEC West. While the wins were indeed over struggling teams, every game except Florida was a rather comfortable win.

So instead of being optimistic everyone should forever focus on the Troy game as long as Orgeron is head coach?
