re: I don't get how people can't see this LSU team is very, very good.

Well, like I said, no plausible scenario about how Canada wound up being hired here speaks well about Orgeron.

Funny how Canada's offense improved when Bielema and Orgeron backed off.
I was blown away by how much better he ran the offense with no interference. It was night and day. He really did an amazing job.

However, the offense was the worst in the SEC in the Red Zone, coming away with points a pathetic 77% of the time.
with touchdowns coming just 59% of the time when the team had a chance.
quote:
But the red zone, moreso than just about anywhere else, will undergo major alterations.
Change is needed.
The Tigers were not effective inside the 20-yard line in 2017. In 56 attempts inside the red zone, LSU scored points 43 times; of the 130 teams in Division I, only 25 had a lower conversion rate.
In the past decade, no LSU team has been less effective in the red zone than the 2017 Tigers. From 2008 to 2016, LSU averaged an 86 percent conversion rate with a low of 78.72 percent in 2014 and a high of 93.44 percent in 2011.
Of SEC teams' 132 seasons over the past 10 years, only 25 had a worse conversion rate than 2017 LSU.
LSU knows what the problem is and is on a mission to fix it.
The team and fans are going to miss his exceptional scoring ability. Maybe they can call him during the week for his expertise on red-zone scoring.

Alsonyou ducked the fact that this mirrors what happened at Ole Miss.
All of Os comments about Him telling E to do something and E saying “yes, sir” should concern everyone. That and the whole “I’m he head coach” bullshite.

Didn’t he say that’s why he failed miserably? And he wouldn’t make that mistake again?

How exactly do we know if Canada or O was the problem? Or both most likely.
O was meddling in the offense in fall camp, before the season even started. It was very obvious in the first half of the Troy game, and O admitted to asking Canada to dumb down the O after the loss. This doesn’t answer WHO started the problems, but O promised Canada complete control, and was getting in his way before a regular season snap. O and Canada also had to be separated by players at practice on at least one occasion. So if that was happening in front of players, I can only imagine what was happening behind the scenes.

I'm pretty sure we're in universal agreement this was a bad hire. I'm not sure who you're trying to convince at this point

How many points in the red one did E score vs Bama and Florida?
10 in 2 games?
But hey that Missouri game.

Getting 3 points in 4 possession inside the 10 yard line does suck though.
Miscues happen in football. That has nothing to do with play-calling.
Was Donte's blown play that allowed the UF 99 yard TD Aranda's fault?

where do u idiots come from?
nobody knows shite. wait and see. D SHOULD be strong.

It doesn’t bother you that a career DL coach who got this job by saying he is gonna let his coaches coach. Hasn’t had a clear idea what he wants on offense is not saying they are gonna run what he wants because he is the HC?
Posted on 8/28/18 at 3:08 pm to Tiger Ree
Is ANYTHING O’s responsibility?

It was clear the players had problems grasping the offense do no, it doesn't bother me.
Now if he did it to Aranda I woul take issue with it

Why is it “Miscues happen” when it’s E
But Canada sucks when it’s Canada?
The TD on dante was 1 play.
Not 12.
We went for it on 4th twice and got 0 points. That’s 8 plays to get 10 yards.

Literally 3 people having a circle jerk and ignoring the fact that a career DL coach decides he could fix our offense and proceeded to make it worse
Sweet mother of God. Absolutely ridiculous.

Not sold on the Oline at all.Recruiting needs to get better.
The #1 OG in the nation. Two OT's and a center who is rated as the 7th best in the nation despite moving to the position this spring. That recruiting?

Ok and O now saying he’s gonna meddle with the offense is cool because we couldn’t learn Canada’s offense?

But he also fixed the problem. What some called meddling, I call fixing the problem. The offense got better as the season moved on as we saw less of Canada's presnap motions and we became a more traditional offense. LSU was a better team in November than it was in September, and I have to give some credit to his meddling.
No he didn't.
Like I already said, if Orgeron had "fixed" the problem, he wouldn't have allowed Canada to bring the shifts back after a scoreless first half against Troy.
The offense didn't become more traditional. The rest of the season was more run-first, built around the jet sweep.
