There have been several "promotions" from Murry St coaches into the Power 5 and all of them have fizzled. Only one that work out was Mick Cronin. With Cronin, he had to rebuild Cincy from scratch after Bob Huggins resigned and that took a few seasons.
But I'm wondering if the sustained success that Murray St has shown is more heavily weighted towards the program itself or the coaching talent that's passed through.

I sure ain't a Woody shill. He did OK with Kelly, Jay Johnson, and Kim. Give credit where credit is due.
He did not do OK with the basketball hire, period.
I'm calling him out on that one. But I can't squawk with football, baseball, or women's basketball.
Beth is on deck, by the way, I think.

You can't blame the coach. He took a higher paying job. It's not his fault he inherited a dumpster fire.
It's not his fault for knowing exactly what the situation was and willingly coming here? No one forced him to, no one put a gun to his head.
quote:
At this point McMahon is in worse shape than when he started with no player
That would be entirely his fault and no one elses.

He well may have half the current team jump ship,
The ship he created and is captaining.

he will face the fact that no player wants to come here to this crap
Crap that he created, so how is it not his fault??

You must be his wife.
He didn't have to resort to a Tuba player. He was faced with"Draconian Sanctions" as was John Brady. JB had to fill up the roster with JC players.

There is no doubt in my mind that Will Wade had a vendetta against SW and LSU for his firing... and because of that he did all that he could to direct the returning players away from LSU and to other programs! Just one man's opinion

Few if any of those players had any ties to LSU, they came here because of Will Wade.
Woodward unceremoniously fired Wade on the eve of the NCAA tourney, and didn't even bother to let the team know. They found out via social media. I don't think they needed much of any motivation to leave the program.

This statement is just flat out wrong.

No other team had zero players on scholarship, zero recruits, and looming sanctions
Again not true. I guess Wilkinson, Miller and Williams just don't count as scholarship players to morons like you.
Also, five other scholarship players (Gaines, Pinson, Murray, Reid, and Fudge) transferred AFTER McMahon was hired. But please go on and continue to defend your asinine take.

The buck stops with the coach, win or lose.

there is no evidence for this whatsover, and wade himself angrily refuted it.

nah. for all we know the players like him. if he can keep the young core guys ward, reed and big shawn, then pick up a transfer big and a couple veteran guards, next year might be fine.
murray vet mick cronin was shite when he first moved to cincy. he worked through it.

He just can't coach. SEC !!!!!!!!

I don’t know it’s pretty bad. I understand the whole team essentially turned over which is not a common occurrence. Maybe in basketball it’s more common? You wouldn’t see that in football.
Anyway I haven’t seen basketball this bad and I was in school when both Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones coached. They at least had interesting stars to watch while they were getting stomped by everyone and not to mention the token white guys like Garrett Green and Edie Ludwig who had no business playing college ball.

Yep, that’s all this is. Anyone who watches LSU play and thinks the coach is doing a good job simply doesn’t know anything about basketball on the most fundamental level.

News flash genius, the roof has already caved in.

And out of those last 6 Murray State coaches McMahon was 4th in winning percentage there.
