Can u imagine how many championships we would have won with a different coach during that period

Everyone wanted to like and support Miles. As time went on, however, it was obvious that he valued his control and mindset over what would have made him win championships. His refusal to change and his constant interference with his coaches led to his demise. Likable guy for the most part but in the end too unwilling to do what was necessary to compete. To his credit, O has done what Miles wouldn't.

What makes me sad was that the win that “saved his job” was a 19-7 win at home over a mediocre A&M team where your QB went 7-21 with 83 yards passing.

The man lowered the majority of the fanbase’a standards over the years.

The people that still defend him amazes me. Just because he lucked into a National Championship and got lucky on a few 4th downs. At best he should be coaching OL at a school like Broadmoor. Watching that clip was like watching a clip of Joe Biden!

Wtf..even if true we weren't beating them cuz they threw the ball well and we didn't. The gameplan wasn't capable of winning whether they knew it was coming or not

Williams helped game plan for the option.

the tweet is still up, its real.

so just think about that for a second.

Williams has been in the NFL for 30 years. Its entirely possible he's never even seen the option, what magic formula is he gonna have to stop it?

vs Jordan Jefferson, no less. This isn't exactly Tommie Frazier we're talking about. Saban had already faced Jordan 3 times by then, and done well against him every time.

but, devils advocate, lets pretend Williams has some magic secret to stop the option (which he doesn't), and lets pretend Saban actually needed that magic secret (which he didn't)...

Williams has never worked with Saban, he's never even worked with Belichik, does Nick fricking Saban really seem like the kind of guy to build his "game plan" for a national championship around the advice of someone he's never worked with?

None of that makes any sense.

What does make sense is that Williams was the Saints DC and watched LSU practice in the dome. He knew our signals, he knew what we were gonna do and when.

but would Saban take that info?

well, theres always been the rumor that Saban taped or got info from Oklahomas practice in the dome when we played them in 2003. His mentor was fined $500,000 for doing that very thing vs the Jets. Saban said he had someone in the box to steal signals when he was a DC in the NFL. Ole Miss among others have accused him of doing it in the SEC.

So, frick YES Saban would take stolen signals to win a title, in a rematch vs a team who beat him at home, his former team and biggest rival in the division no less. he HAD to kill LSU, or LSU was gonna kill him. Of course he would take stolen signals, he wouldn't pause for a second. and frick YES that mattered in the title game.

In the first game they missed FGs from 44, 50, 49, and 52.

In the title game they hit FGs from 23, 34, 35, and 44, they missed from 41 and 42.

We couldn't breathe on offense in the title game, couldn't move an inch. that put bama closer to FGs, and now that they were closer they were able to hit. It was 15-0 with 4 minutes to go in the 4th, their ONLY touchdown came at the very end of the game.

2011 LSU was one of the best CFB teams of all time, they were only the second team ever to beat 3 of the final top 5, it was them and 71 Nebraska, who is god tier. It's absolute bullshite they don't get the recognition they deserve.

I have no idea why he took the Jayhawk job. He looks defeated and resigned to the fact that neither Kansas nor he has the goods to play winning football. It’s pitiful.

There were rumblings early on in the Program that he wasn’t detailed oriented and unfocused.
he was a hell of a recruiter, his recruiting alone made up his other deficits. Just look at his records while at LSU.

No way an unfocused man could pull those kind of classes year in and year out.

Its Biden 2. So sad to see that. They asked him about CC DL dominating the LOS and he started blabbing about the 3rd string guy who beat out the top 2 QB's... Very bad, guy needs to hang up those chicken shite Sunbelt head pieces and retire!

He held us back for a couple more titles in his tenure here. I remember I said OH OH when he went on burn out the clock mode against Tennessee in the 2nd qtr. His first game, we are up by 21 I think and he started his crappy runs up the middle to kill clock.... in the snd frigging qtr

One of the best new posters I have seen in a long time.

Great perspective on Miles and insight on Saban's cheating in 2011.

Keep up the good work!

I loved Les while he was our coach. And I still appreciated what he accomplished here. That said, I believe he’s done. Maybe it’s dementia, I don’t know. But something is off...more than before. He needs to retire and come back to BR just to support the Tigers. He’s still a legend, despite the last several years as HC.

Good lord I do not miss that jackass. Easily the most overrated coach of all time. I’ll never get over all the wins we could’ve had that he blew and the amount of talent that he wasted.

I think it will be revealed that he has had some sort of traumatic brain or neurological event like a stroke or something while here at LSU, because his press conferences got progressively worst. He went from an intimidating figure to a character. I loved the guy, but I always thought something happened and was covered up!

Compare this to what we’re getting today.

Les at his best!

Sounds like Les needs Slow Joe Biden's handlers.
Submit the questions, pre conference, and a teleprompter.

We just watched the Chic filet A 2012 rerun and I am furious all over again and the STUPID coaching on both sides of the ball. All we had to do is run the ball and run out the clock. Noooooo,we pass 3 times in a row and Clemson gets the ball with enough time left to kick a field goal as time ran out to beat us 25-26. FURIOUS I TELL YOU! EVEN the ones calling the game didn't even know what to say!MILES IS AS N IDIOT!
