Second team in Mississippi is still arguably a top 10 program in all of college baseball.

If it is, it's Bianco built it into one.

I'm not big on Bianco, but you can't say he's not getting it done at a top program when it was a terrible program before he got there.

Just reading the tea leaves, it sounds like Godwin or Bianco.

Godwin looks like a baw from Cocodrie.

He looked like an idiot.

Celebrate the walk-off grand slam, absolutely.

But the bat toss, walking backwards up the first base line, and then the helmet toss midway down 3rd base line, he looked dumb.

It is and I addressed this. There are countless examples of coaches that are great program builders and recruiters that can never get over the hump and don't have what it takes to win championships.

It's a very common thing.

LSU doesn't need someone to build a program, they have a program, they need someone to bring in a championship mentality that gets us over the hump.

According to what I’ve read, Godwin is a hard-nosed competitor with attitude and his teams emulate him. That’s something LSU baseball can use.

This all day.

It's different than what I see coming from Vitello the more I look at him.

a-hole, yes. Attention-whore, no.

this is a sorry excuse. you’re upset over a team celebrating hitting a walk-off grand slam?

You’d be on the opposite side of the fence if LSU did it.

It’s called swagger.

I'm all for big celebration.... but go watch that... it's not big celebration.

Bianco got to Ole Miss at the right time. SEC baseball exploded in the 90s and Ole Miss moves to Bianco as more SEC schools were putting money into baseball. I give Bianco a ton of credit for pushing Ole Miss to upgrade and create top notch facilities and a super atmosphere.

Having said that, Ole Miss has been an very good baseball program for about 15 years now. Bianco has brought them to the edge of elite. But they have been repeatedly knocked out at home in the postseason. They have only reached Omaha as many times as schools such as Stony Brook, Missouri State, and Kent State.

Does Goodwin want to leave his home state? I love the pedigree but many of these decisions also brings in personal. He’s back home coaching at his alma mater.

I wondered why he was still at ECU and hadn't jumped to a power 5 yet and the response was he has been waiting for the LSU job.

I have no problem with the big celebration.

It's the half the team staring the other dugout down that's over the top.

Bruh, you're a 3 national seed and just beat your regional 4 seed. That's like the 63rd worst team in the field. Have some perspective.

i've always been warm to the idea of hiring godwin. Isn't the idea to get a young hungry up and comer that can hold down the ship for years to come? that guy wasn't gonna be sully or schloss. mcdonnell would be a good hire but both he and bianco are getting up there as well. the young up and comers are godwin and vitello. more news is coming out everyday that vitello is likely to stay at tenn. so doesn't godwin make the most sense?

I’ve been saying his name since Day 1

If ECU pulls it off vs Vandy this weekend his stock is going to skyrocket

I think Godwin would be pretty good and he could get the job. There would be a pretty big melt though if he gets it because he’s not Vitello

Godwin has been my choice all along. I really like Blake Dean as well but he doesn’t have the resume that Godwin does. Deans teams have similar characteristics as Godwins does in that the are solid in all phases of the game. Consistency on defense, offense, and pitching.

He is like Skip who looked like he was 60 when he was 20.
