Weeks is a good spy on most mobile QBs, but Reed has some elite RB-like acceleration. He’s not your typical passing QB who can also run it. Without Perkins, he was a really bad matchup for our defense

We probably should’ve thrown Atkins out there. He was our best chance without Perkins

The safeties are horrible.

Just think if lsu had a safety like Kamari Ramsey from usc. He was all over the field making plays.

I'm sick of seeing burns tackle with his shoulder. He gave up that td doing that shite.

So how screwed are we against Milroe?

Will Perkins be back by the time we have our SECCG game rematch with A&M to help catch Reed?

For a large part of the defensive plays, A&M schemed Weeks away from the play.

Bingo! Safties consistently take horrible angles, there were multiple runs they could’ve filled and were out of position.

When you make an impact teams will gameplan for you that’s something you have to get used to

That’s a tough ask for a true freshman, especially when it wasn’t part of the original gameplan. Even moreso on the road.

But now that we’ve seen this happen, it would be smart for the staff to spend a little time over the bye week to prep him and maybe Toviano at Star to take this on in the future, because Burns and Weeks were completely ineffective. Milroe isn’t the same kind of quick acceleration runner in the backfield that Reed is, but Lagway and OU’s freshman backup QB are pretty quick. Without Perkins, we need a plan B ready next time.

He’s not the same kind of player. He obviously has speed, but more once he gets in space and gets going. He’s bigger and has more power, but he doesn’t have that first step burst that Reed does. Most QBs don’t.

Weeks will probably be ok to spy Milroe as long as we keep contain on the edges. He and Penn did better than anyone expected vs Dart, and he’s definitely capable of breaking off runs. We also know that Swinson has really good speed from the edge, so that helps. But some guys like Burns and Ryan who struggled Saturday but had played better in the previous two games HAVE to bounce back and do their jobs vs Bama.

Fyi- he didn’t pop, but 7 tackles and 2 solos last night. Just to clarify the false shite from OP

FWIW, it wasnt false shite. ESPN literally didnt have him listed and showed West with 3 tackles. Thats why I asked the question.

LINK

Im guessing he legit had 7 sacks as well?

Safeties still are flat footed not flying downhill to the ball CB's getting blocked to the sidelines and LB's not shedding off blocks. DL looked like they have never seen a RPO play.

I know this may be hard to believe, but good coaches and OCs that can actually put together a game plan are also able to scheme away/round a player to be successful.

aTm gave us a master class on it, then promptly dry fricked us with a second string QB.

Get used to it.

I didn't realize he had zero stats.

But, I noticed how poorly he played. I thought it was his worst game.

It's crazy how different things can go one game to the next.

He has stats now, the espn box score is messed up and that's why I asked. espn box score still shows him having 7 sacks.

Dude had a decent week last week and somehow became a legend.
Hes just ok...just like Perkins....just like Nuss..just like Campbell.

LSUs best player is a true freshman rb. He's the only guy playing at or above his potential

Come on. Swinson and Alexander are playing their asses off and making more NFL money every game. Teams actively scheme to avoid both of them now.

Swinson has been a dominant DE all season. I don’t understand how you can leave him out as much impact he’s had all year. That’s just ridiculous.

The last two QBs have avoided Alexander’s side of the field like the plague. The only time he showed up outside of run fits last weekend was running down a guy from behind on a coverage someone else busted.

Without those two, a lot of what we are doing successfully on defense wouldn’t be possible, or at least wouldn’t be nearly as effective. They were more important than Durham the last two games because he’s injured and can’t carry the running load like we saw vs USCe.

your ESPN link now shows him with 7 tackles and 2 tackles for loss

in a game where TAMU largely accounted for him or went away from him as part of their game plan
