you're saying he's no good because he's the 3rd string. ohio state has shown that in the past their 3rd string was capable of leading them to a championship.
so how do you conclude burrow is dogshit?

I think it's A LOT more simple than that.
Urban LOVES QBs with A LOT of running ability.
Burrow can run, but not the best option for Urban's system.

Who is Troy Aikman?
He was processed at Oklahoma.
Who won the starting position at Oklahoma that sent Aikman to UCLA?

So little actual knowledge or understanding.

Burrow was considered the backup after the spring. That equals “buried?”

Man, that first sentence just doesn't flow. Plus, I don't think it means what you think it means.

In short, Urban Meyer is full of crap. Burrow was buried on the depth chart at #3, and leaving opened him up another scholarship.
I mean, do you think we are under the impression that Burrow would have left OSU even if he thought he was likely going to get a chance to start there?
OSU has had solid QBs buried on their bench every year. Meyer recruits good QBs. Burrow is one of those. I'm sure Meyer IS happy to have the scholly available, but he'd also have been happy to have another solid qb on the bench in case of a string of freak injuries. It's happened to them before.
Burrow realized he only gets one college football career, and so he decided to find a good program where the starting spot would be his to lose, and he found exactly that in us.

so 6/7 for 94 yards wins a major QB job? reminds me of Anthony Jennings winning LSU job because of long bomb he threw in Arkansas game.
I hope this is bad trolling and you aren’t actually this stupid

We don't need Tim Tebow or JT Barrett to be successful. We had one of the two most dominant teams in modern history with Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson splitting time at QB.
If the defense is legit, CEH can make some plays and Curry or one of the other backs can grind out first downs with runs between the tackles late, even a competent (top-30) QB should be enough to give us a chance in every game. Based on what the OSU fans have said, to think that Burrow might be a top-15 or 20 quarterback this year, possibly top-10 next, doesn't seem entirely unrealistic.
If Burrow is an average #2 under Urban Meyer he should be plenty good enough to win the SEC with plus line play and some luck with injuries.
All that said, I'm hoping he balls out, but unless Orgeron is 2 games+ per year worse than Miles in any year, LSU O/U 7.5 seems like easy Money.
I think we beat Miami and take one of 3 at least from Auburn, Georgia and Alabama. I think we take at least one, maybe both games against MSU and aTm.
Basically, everyone who put money on the win total will have a pretty good idea of whether the bet will pay off after the first game.
If we beat Miami, there's no way I see us losing to both Alabama schools, Georgia, MSU and aTm. I don't see any other potential losses so if we beat the ACC team and take our annual win against the Aggies (who still shouldn't be able to stop LSU's OLine), that's at leat 8 wins.
Even if we lose to Miami, I could see the team winning at least two of the 5 conference games.
A loss to UF and Orgeron shouldn't be allowed on the team plane to return home.

quote:Aikman got hurt in the fourth game of the 1985 season, a loss to Miami. Freshman Jamelle Holieway took over at quarterback, but Oklahoma switched back to its wishbone offense to take advantage of Holieway's skill set. The offense clicked, and Holieway led Oklahoma to eight straight wins including an Orange Bowl win over Penn State that secured the national championship. Aikman saw the handwriting on the wall, transferred to UCLA, and sat out a year before playing his final two seasons for the Bruins.
Jamelle Holloway?

Jamelle Holieway was without a doubt the best option QB ever, until Tommy Frazier came along. And even then it's debatable.
