The brain tumor guy filed a lawsuit against LSU. No lawyer in America would let any representative of LSU continue with communication after the lawsuit was filed.

Maybe. Maybe not. One of the few real insiders on TOS posted this morning that it is starting to heavily damage our chances with top candidates. I guess we'll find out.

So, BK wasn’t damaging the brand/image?

Yes we should and will get the right coach but paying top $ is a mistake until he wins big.
correct. We went with the "top dollar" approach and got burned. We don't do that again.

Get a good coach but we don't need to land a big fish.

We MAY and I stress MAY end up with a good coach and the right coach.

And yes folks have short memories.

But we've looked stupid and embarrassing on several fronts on several occasions all in a short period of time - it's the kind of thing folks hang on to and make fun of for a long time like we do with the Aggies for example. That's part of image and brand and it does matter in certain instances and circumstance.

Ruining is the wrong word. Its having a negative impact and a very bad look. But no, its not ruining the program. But its an obstacle that has to be worked around in the search.

I swear Its like fans on here just want to wallow in the idea of LSU being terrible and ruined. SMH. These talking heads in the media know jack chit about anything. They hated us taking Kelly from their darlings ND. They are reveling in their idea be comfirmed that he was an a55hole and bad fit. They wish to continue that with painting LSU as damaged goods all for more clicks and internet traffic. The gov had to get involved somewhat because of the unique situation with there not being a President at the time. Did he stick his foot in his mouth? Of course. Is going to keep good coaches away? NO. We are still a top 5 program with world class facilities, plenty of fan and alumni support, talent rich state fore recruiting and the best game day atmosphere in college football. PERIOD

True, Kelly was a fraud. For some reason the entire sports media industry of Louisiana covered for him. When he was let go they all came out with their concerns and had to make Sh!t up.

The issue is he was not that good, nor did he seem to care. His Coordinators at ND seem to have kept him afloat.

Like Miles, he made great talent good.

In this current landscape of College Football some of these things no longer give LSU the advantage. Recruiting is a different game now its no longer about the Louisiana relationships and being able to easily get those players. The atmosphere is no longer what it was lmfao. Will see if the next Coach can "bring that energy" back.

You also fail to take into account the candidates opinion of the job. Every candidate views jobs differently. LSU is not universally a top 5 job. There are several Coaches who do not want to Coach at LSU but believe what you will.

3 years ago everyone in the country was laughing at Texas A&M for the Jimbo debacle , now they hired Elko and look at A&M now. LSU makes the right hire and all this pissing and moaning will pass. LSU is the top open job and it's been shown we have the backers with the deep pockets to make it happen. Chill Tiger fans ! We will be fine!

Did you copy and paste this from a post you made right before Kelly was hired?

I’ve said this the whole time. Money talks and the next coach of LSU will be top 5 highest paid coaches in the country with a very large NiL budget.

Haha. You'd better check in with the governor on that!

This is all agents and media trying to damage LSU, some saying it’s the best job in College, some saying all the chaos makes it shaky. BS money, recruiting, facilities, fandom, and history makes this job top 3.
No loudmouth governor, No J Sexton nudging clients in or away, No media that knows LSU is a Monster when rolling hating on us right now, No sleazy lawyers trying to get theirs, No analysts too old to Coach but he knows, and LSU haters far & wide can’t change the fact That any Coach worth mentioning of this job would kill to have it. If the situation is right for a Coach and LSU we’ll get a good one and be Elite again. All the noise means nothing but feelings.

Most likely, it will result in a confidential financial settlement. As long as LSU gets back on track, which they should, no damage done.

Get ready for Bob Stoops!

LSU can still end up with a great coach, of course they can and I hope they do. But I think the idea among some that none of this matters in any way, shape or form is a bit myopic.

Both things can be true.

Agreed, LSU, in spite of the BS that’s went on, is still the best job to have out of all the big jobs available.

All of the Cassandra’s on here flapping their arms are just venting political frustrations with Landry. LSU’s longer term problem is that Woodward seriously fricked LSU football for 5-10 years minimum.
