I bet UCLA is not going to make the return trip to Baton Rouge now.

It will also be interesting to see what happens to the USC game in Las Vegas.

I wish they would just get rid of all neutral site games unless its a rivaly game. Home & Home only. Its stupid that we're playing FSU in NOLA & Orlando.

These were set up initially to help in recruiting. Saban was a big proponent of these when he was here. I don’t see the benefits anymore. I think The home game is more important

Did we ever play in one of these prior to 2010 North Carolina?

I don’t think so but he pushed for it while he was here and again when he got to Bama. I’ll have to find the article that referenced the start of neutral site games and the push for the extra game.
I understood at the time it was good but I think home and home are better for the fan base

Reason #972 not to have a non conference game outside of BR, NOLA, or Houston.

I am looking forward to the game in Vegas. Hopefully they will keep it. They should. Both teams are being paid very well by the TV networks.

The earliest recollection of one of these games was UNC in 2010 and Saban was already in year 4 at Bama. There were home/homes scheduled under Saban, but neutral site games didn’t start getting scheduled until Miles.

Care to elaborate? Why won't UCLA come to BR?

You would think LSU would stop getting bent over by these deals but no.

I bet they will. Why would a move to a new conference effect their non-conference schedule?

Crazy how these have worked out. I bought Texas and UCLA season ticket packages just to confirm a spot. Then they bail.

Agreed! With how much sports are televised these days you don’t have to physically be in a recruits city/area for them to be aware of your program. Getting them to campus and experiencing the actual culture they’ll potentially be in is way more important

He pushed for playing big OOC games but not neutral site specifically
