I Became a Tiger Fan When......................

I was 14 living on the Westbank (Harvey) and my parents told me they scored tickets to the LSU vs Tulane game in the Superdome 1987. Harvey Williams was a beast in that game.
This year i get to stay home and take my 8 year old son to the GA. DOME to see his first LSU game. I guarantee the experience will have him hooked as soon as he hears the four notes in pre-game.

I was born and the first literature I looked at was Dad's programs from the games. I knew all the players and their numbers before I learned how to read. Thank goodness my Dad had his priorities in line. But you're right, the first game will lock that in for life, as it did me. It's kind of like what I imagine smokin rock would be, only better and slightly cheaper.

Listening to the Tigers on Saturday on WWL with my dad and uncles on the front porch of our house - then going to my first game in Tiger Stadium in 1949. Been hooked all my life I guess.

unfortunately i've never been to a game in Tiger Stadium, only the Superdome and Ga. Dome and next year i'll be going to Athens.

Dude this is very unfortunate. You should really try to go to one. You'll never be the same again.

i am 35 years old and will make it one day. the good thing about living in Atl is that most SEC schools are within a 4-5 hour drive from here and there are plenty of opportunities to see them on the road. Hopefully my son will be a Tiger in 10 years and i can move back home to the boot.

I had been a casual fan until Tommy Hodson's freshman season. Attended my first game at Tiger Stadium during his sophomore year. Was inspired partly to become a journalist reading my next door neighbor's Sunday Advocate following LSU games.

The 2005 Peach Bowl was a great experience for me. I got to use media credentials for the first time in my life. Free admission, press box seat, free chick fil a sandwiches and other food with a heck of a dessert table.

...in 1996 during the College World Series. I had only been living in Louisiana for a few years after moving here from New Jersey. I hadn't really developed an appreciation for everything LA even though I'd chosen to go to LSU. Watching the Tigers on the way to the championship, and then Warren Morris' homerun to beat Miami was what sealed it for my fandom thru today. Been bleeding P & G ever since.

When I went to the LSU-Ole Miss game in Oxford in 96 or 97. I think Keven Faulk had something like two kick returns for a touchdown that day. It was awesome to see Ole Miss fans filing out in the 3rd quarter

I enrolled at the Univeristy for my first year of college
Definitely didn't care much about Tiger football when I got here, but by the time I left I had become a diehard... theres something about Saturday nights that does it to you.

I heard the call of the Bert Jones to Brad Davis TD to beat Ole Miss in 1972. I was 6 and it's the first LSU game I can remember.
My dad would go to some games in those days but not all of them. For the '72 Ole Miss game I can remember my dad pacing nervously back and forth in his bedroom while I listened to John Ferguson with him. I didn't understand why he did that until 1980 when I attended my first LSU game in TS against Tulane.
I have missed less than 10 home games since then.

Only problem with that scenario is being a bowl game, the regular pregame may not be played. I have always wished that at bowl games or away games that the band would play the pregame for their portion of halftime.
