The first time I walked into Tiger Stadium and looked out onto the field. I was 14 years old and its was just breath taking. I'm still in love with pictures of the stadium.

I was about ten years old - my brother was at LSU then and we all went down to see LSU play North Carolina - the only name I remember from the game was NC's 'Choo Choo Justice."

I was in awe of Tiger Stadium. When we approached it and I saw that it was a building, I thought they played football on TOP of the thing and wondered what happened if they punted the ball off the top.

We also saw Mike I in the original cage. They were cleaning the cage out and there was an ugly six foot wide stream of 'green' crap running over the sidewalk. My brother and his friend jumped right over it, and I tried, but didn't make it. I ended up on my back in the middle of the tiger poo. My parents had to take me to town to get me some new clothes - first time I ever got corduroy pants - so it turned out well. Actually, the discussed just making me stay in the car during the game but decided the car would smell too bad for the trip back home - whew!!

<<< probably the only LSU fan on the board who can claim to have been covered in Mike I tiger shite.

wow - we are about the same age.

I was a junior in 58 and my son was born during the football season that year, but we made it to all the home games anyway.

My granddaughter graduates this year - Dec 19th.

It's all GOOD.

I was born and my dad tried to put something purple and gold on me and the nurse almost killed him. We had just beat Ole Miss November 3,1973.

Raised in Lousisiana. (since 1962)
My "family" were LSU fans and my "father" had graduated from LSU,
....LSU was it,
BUT "I" really became a fan during the 1966 Cotton Bowl vs. Ark.

Believe it or not, I grew up in New Orleans as a Notre Dame and Tulane fan. I entered LSU in 1973 and graduated in 1977. The great education I received at LSU and those crazy Saturday nights in Tiger stadium is what turned me into a rabid Tiger fan.

I now love LSU and the Tigers more than is probably good for me. And I loathe Alabama, Notre Dame, and Tulane in that order.

...I was born...in Alabama. Dad , a huge LSU fan, still regrets it, and made damn sure I was at least baptized in La. And that's what counts, according to him. My sister had a similar fate 11 months earlier (breeding bunch, huh) and got the same treatment. My mom still says it wasn't on purpose, but I think she wasn't too sure about those 'catlick' hospitals in La....she's from Alabama.
Yeah, I'm a Bama fan too, especially since I graduated there, but some things in life are not voluntary (thank God).

I'm 5 or 6, sitting in the den in our house in Birmingham listening to LSU play Rice on our old console stereo. Dad had to search every Sat. night for WWL....we'd then sit in front of that sucker and listen.

Once a year we'd make the journey to BR to watch a game. Biggest deal in my life was driving to BR to watch games....thought BR was the greatest place on earth then.
